York County Young Life

Jim and Cheryl Holt continue to champion the ministry of Young Life in York County. If we had a dollar for every time Jim Holt said "I love the ministry of Young Life" we wouldn't have to fundraise a dime! But since we do have to fundraise, we are thankful for their support of our annual golf tournament.

This past weekend, our Capernaum friends had the time of their lives at YL Capernaum Day Camp 2024! They played fun games, danced, sang amazing songs, laughed at some funny skits, got sprayed by a fire hose, and got to hear about how much their Savior loves them. Can’t wait to do it again next year! 🥳🥳

New leader spotlight! Meet Marisa, one of our new Northwestern leaders.

Marisa is from Morgantown, WV. And is a freshman at Winthrop University. Her favorite hobbies are running and finding new music to listen to! She decide to be a young life leader in order to grow in her faith as well as be able to provide high schoolers with a way to connect and learn about God without feeling pressure or stress!

New leader spotlight!

Meet Joey, new leader at Rock Hill High School! He graduated from South Pointe High School and currently attends USC Lancaster majoring in computer science. His favorite things to do are hang with friends, play video games, and play just about any sport. He decided to be a leader because he saw how God worked in his life and friends’ lives through Young Life and he wanted to help others find God’s love and grace the way that his leaders helped him find it!

We are so thrilled to announce that we have SIX new leaders! Help us welcome them to YOCO Young Life.

First up is Allie Harker, originally from Morgantown, West Virginia, currently living in Lake Wylie. She graduated from Clover high school and now goes to York Tech community college. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games.

She wanted to be a young life leader because she’s always been a social person and wants to point high schoolers, to Jesus and help them grow in their faith and have a personal relationship with him. In her words, “That’s what we are supposed to do living on this earth!” I am so glad for this opportunity, and I cannot wait for what the future holds for me being able to be a leader for Rock Hill high school!
