National Night Out is coming up Tuesday, August 6! Join us at Longview Park for an evening of fun and community fellowship!
Itโs that time of year again! Sponsored by the Community Caring Conference and the Rock Island Police Department, the National Night Out is a nationwide community building campaign held every year to promote police-community partnerships. This year the National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, August 6th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the pavilion in upper Longview Park. There will be free food, games, police demonstrations, and representatives from the Rock Island Fire Department, Rock Island Public Library, City of Rock Island Government, and many other local groups and organizations.
With our shared goal of a safe community, the National Night Out is a great way for our residents to get to know one another better and work together for a safer Rock Island. See you in two weeks on August 6th!

It's National Parks and Recreation month! Cheers to our Rock Island Parks and Recreation and please make it a point to visit Longview Park and the rest of the parks in Rock island during the month of July! ๐๐
As we look forward to our nation's birthday, the Rock Island Police Department wants to remind everyone to please be considerate and respectful to your neighbors, and to be safe in your celebrations. We all want to have fun celebrating the 4th of July, but please remember that consumer fireworks like firecrackers, bottle rockets, aerial displays, etc., are prohibited in the City of Rock Island. Novelty type fireworks such as sparklers, party poppers, smoke bombs and glow worms are permissible but should be used responsibly. And make sure you don't have your holiday ruined with unscheduled stops to the emergency room!
