The first batch of pointe shoes have arrived for the 2024/25 season! Did you know our pointe shoe budget is $25,000 a season? Just like any athlete, dancers need the proper shoes to perform. Each dancer has their own unique shoe they prefer at an average cost of $150 a pair.

2024 was another great summer partnering with Spring Forward summer camp!

Madeleine Rhode is returning to BQC for her 6th season!

What was your favorite role last season?
In BQC’s 23/24 season finale, both story ballets housed my favorite roles. I adored reprising the role of the Scarecrow in Emily Kate’s Dorothy goes to Oz and also had quite fun being the villain and portraying the Evil Queen in Courtney’s Snow White.

What are your hobbies?
I have a cottage bakery business called Madeleine’s Macarons & More where I bake French macarons and other sweet treats to sell at the DeWitt farmers market every week in the summer! I also do special macaron pre orders on Facebook during my layoffs from ballets. It keeps me busy and allows me to stay creative during my time off.

Any summer travel spots?
I frequent my parents cottage in West Bend, WI where I soak up all the sun, boat rides, and swimming that I can!

What is your favorite thing about the QC?
I love that there are so many bodies of water, both big and small, to explore! This summer I have enjoyed taking my new foldable kayak along streams, rivers, and lakes in the surrounding areas and tapping in to nature.

Thank you Quad Cities Community Foundation for the grant to provide new marley flooring at the Adler Theatre! Our current marley floor at the theatre is 16 years old and worn out. This new floor will allow us to safely perform for you for many years!
