Do you want to dispose of latex paint but don't know how to? Follow the steps in the image below! Latex paint is a water-based paint. When it is completely dried out, it can be thrown out in your garbage!

Do you want to dispose of oil-based paint but don't know how to? Oil-based paint is a hazardous waste, which can be disposed of at the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility located at 5640 Carey Avenue, Davenport, IA.

We would like to thank everyone who stopped by the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event at the Rock Island County Fairgrounds on August 31st to responsibly dispose of their HHW. The event collected HHW from over 300 residents!
If you did not get the chance to stop by, RICWMA currently partners with the Waste Commission of Scott County which allows Rock Island County residents to dispose of their HHW for FREE year-round at 5640 Carey Avenue, Davenport, IA.

REMINDER that Rock Island County Waste Management Agency is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event THIS SATURDAY, August 31, 2024, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Rock Island County Fair Grounds. This event is open to ALL Illinois residents. Please review the flyer below for acceptable items.

RICWMA partners with Weikert Iron and Metal Recycling for residents of Rock Island County to dispose of up to 4 appliances and 10 used tires a year for free! Please call the number below to schedule an appointment.

Acceptable items: Refrigerators, ranges, water heaters, freezers, air conditioners, humidifiers, stoves, clothes dryers, dehumidifiers, ovens, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water coolers, heat pumps, chillers, furnaces, boilers, and microwave ovens.

Note: Appliances may also be referred to as White Goods.

LIMIT: Four appliances per household per year.
LIMIT: Ten tires per household per year.

Unacceptable items: TVs, handheld appliances, VCRs, business equipment, computers.

Did you know that polypropylene containers (butter tubs, yogurt, and fruit cups, and cold take-out cups) are recyclable!
Be on the lookout for a flyer in your mailbox with guidance on proper recycling methods and recycling drop-off locations.
