A couple months ago, I had a repeat customer reach out to me and she threw a few ideas at me. She wanted to have a large mosaic that could carry 8 of her orchids AND the lighting they need.
So we went with a simple mosaic so that it doesn’t take away from the plants. I cut 8 circle platforms and they are installed with wooden dowels to giving a floating look. The top ledge of the frame is deep enough for lighting to be installed.
I will be making smaller versions of this for sale.

I’ve been a little quiet over here…
This year, I’m promising myself to focus on functional art. I’ve always loved functional work and furniture making. So that’s exactly what I have been doing.
I’m giving myself grace to explore and dive into it. I currently have no orders in queue, so this is perfect timing.
I have some big ideas that will be happening.
So here is a little jewelry rack that I made out of Maple and Oak. A hand carved and routed basin for studs and rings.
Tomorrow I will post the sister version of this that is larger but with hooks underneath for necklaces.
I will be able to make this out of Maple, Oak, & Walnut.
