ROAD WORK UPDATE:
Beech Street/Spring curb and walkway project:
We are in the process of removing and installing granite curbing. We have pulled the required 3,000 linear feet for our contractor to begin installation starting Mid July. Additional curbing will be loaded into the area next week. We will also be working on service structures in the walkway format and removing a few tree stumps.

The process goes as follows: Highway department pulls the existing granite curb, old walks, loamy soil and installs gravel burrow. Contractor installs existing and mixes in new curbing near drives and street transitions. Highway department then subgrades behind curbing and pulls driveway aprons to prep. The contractor will finish grade and install walks and ADA ramps at street crossings. Once all hardscape is completed, Highway department will grade out loam and hydroseed disturbed areas and reinstall mailboxes. (Loam and seed in Fall). The process takes longer due to the amount of inhouse work but it is saving a substantial amount for the Town. Once the 3,000 feet is complete, we will start next section to Morningside Drive.
