Tuesday night Rockland voters have a voice in deciding whether the town moves forward with the redevelopment of the former South Weymouth Airbase. The South Shore Chamber of Commerce has long identified the former Base as the most important economic opportunity for the three communities and the surrounding area. Rockland to vote on tax hike to fund new fire station. Again. And then maybe a third time. Rockland voters rejected a tax increase to fund a new fire station at the town election April 8. They'll vote on the same plan at town meeting.
