ITS WORLD TURTLE DAY!!!
Join us on June 9th to meet some terrific turtles and to learn all about them. What’s the difference between a tortoise and a turtle? How does a turtle survive the cold winters here? What was that plastic straw thing all about? You’ll learn the answers to these questions at TURTLE TIME!
https://cstl.org/turtle-time/
In the first picture are some baby red-eared sliders that have been hatching all around the preserve! These are actually an invasive species that, despite coming from down south, are surprisingly well adapted for the cold. Native or not, we still appreciate having turtles on our preserve because they play such a critical role in the environment, and they’re just plain cool!
We’ve found ourselves in a sticky situation! Investigation turned discovery, learning through play! Now enrolling for the 2024-2025 school year: https://cstl.org/just-for-kids/natures-kids/
