St. Mary's Preschool
Welcome to St. Mary's Prekindergarten’s page. We are located in Rockville , MD. St.
Mary’s School offers an early childhood program for children three, four and five years of age. The goal of the school is to promote the spiritual, emotional and intellectual development of each child in a nurturing atmosphere with Christian values.
Thankful for these joyful little people entrusted to our care.
First full week of preschool is complete! Lots of smiles shared and new friendships made. Rest up PreK! We have even more fun planned for next week.
It was a fabulous first week of preschool! PK4’s favorite part? The playground!
Today our sixth graders could be found all around St. Mary’s helping teachers and staff prep for summer. These four young ladies scrubbed all the preschool chairs.… when they were finished, the chairs looked new! Thank you to our 6th grade class for being a model of service and Mustang Pride.
Our Prek classes took their first field trip. They explored Croydon Creek Nature Center, took a hike in the woods, met a few animal ambassadors, and had a picnic lunch at the Rockville Civic Center park. The highlight of the day, for most of our little angels, was getting to ride on a real school bus!
SMS Field Day is underway! We love showing and sharing our Mustang Pride. Thank you to our supporters for these terrific t-shirts!
Our PK4 students LOVE their teachers!
Happy Easter from Mrs.K, Mrs. Conway, and SMS’s Bunny!
What a great day celebrating a great PreK teacher! Happy Birthday to Ms. Walters!
What a beautiful day…. spring is in the air…. and PreK is in the sandbox!
When leprechauns come to visit, our PreK classrooms get a wee bit messy and a wee bit green!
PK3 is learning rules help keep us safe and how to get help when we need it. Today, they made their own emergency vehicles and learned how fire fighters and police help our community.
Father James visited with our preschoolers on Tuesday. He encouraged them to grow closer to God over the next 40 days. Father James brought some ashes with him and explained the symbolism of the cross on our forehead.
Today Mrs. Eisel visited our prek classrooms and invited the preschoolers to receive ashes. She encouraged them to give alms during Lent by being kind and helpful.
Congratulations Bill and Ardie! We have been blessed to have the Camara family active at St. Mary’s Church and School for the last 40 years. When you enroll your child at St. Mary's School, your whole family becomes part of our community. We look forward to partnering with the Camara family for the next 40 years!
Congratulations to Bill & Ardie Camara on being named Parishioners of the Year 2022 in recognition of their service to St. Mary's Parish! Their long involvement with St. Mary's started with their 3 children who attended St. Mary's School. While Ardie volunteered at the school, Bill began his involvement with the parish. Painting games on the school playground, cooking enormous amounts of pasta for the scouts, selling donuts, and more. Bill was selected to serve as, and still remains, a Eucharistic Minister. Bill and Ardie also became program coordinators for the soon-to-be-married couples in the parish for over 15 years! They are extremely grateful to be a part of St. Mary's Parish and will continue to support in gratitude for all that the School and Parish have meant to their family! Join us to celebrate them at our Annual Auction and Awards Gala on Saturday, February 26. Purchase tickets to the Gala at https://one.bidpal.net/smsgala2022/

Terri jumped right in as a preschool parent…. lunch bunches, field trips, classroom celebrations, hospitality for our preschool shows,…. and never stopped! Terri’s willingness to help where-ever and whenever she sees a need is a testament to the great accomplishments that a strong partnership between home and school produces. Thank you Terri Bourbon for all you do for our school, faculty, community, and students!

Is there anything sweeter than listening to children pray?
Our PK4 start each day by asking their guardian angels to watch over them and guide them. 👼
Today our preschoolers are talking about angels... how they protect us and guide us to a deeper friendship with Jesus.
Catholic Schools Week Wednesday: Celebrating Vocations! Catholic schools prepare children to use their God-given talents to the fullest later in life. Catholic Schools offer an opportunity for students to explore the many life paths that enable them to use their talents well in the service of God and others.
Our PK4 friends want to be great things when they grow up….. chefs, vets, animal lovers, doctors, ballerinas, race car drivers, scientists, and exquisite dressers! And if they couldn’t be St. Mary’s teachers, Mrs. K would be a builder and Ms. Walters would be a nurse!
Catholic Schools Week Tuesday: Celebrating Our Community! Today our students look to the future and imagine the role they will play in their community. A central aspect of Catholic education is learning the importance of service to others.
PK3 kicked off Catholic Schools Week with a classroom visitor. Thank you for reading with us Father James and sharing the message of Jesus' love for us!
COVID may keep us from singing during Music class but it can’t keep our preschoolers from having fun with Mrs. Brunk. Our talented music teacher had these little angels listening to music, sharing about musical instruments, and getting their groove on with a dance party! St. Mary’s is blessed to have dedicated teachers finding creative ways for our students to learn, thrive, and stay healthy during this pandemic.
When you enroll your student in preschool at St. Mary's School, your whole family becomes part of our community and forms lasting friendships.
