An exciting visit by the Rockville Police Department’s community engagement officers today! Our kids had lots of questions & got to see how Bolo the police dog (such a good boy) uses his special skills to find hidden items & stay super alert. Thank you to these officers for being great examples of community helpers!

Back to school 🍎! Our first week flew by so quickly and all of our students are already getting settled into routines with their teachers, co-opers, and friends, both new & old. Our classes have been taking advantage of the gorgeous weather and spending lots of time outside! We are wishing all of our families & alumni friends a very happy new school year full of fun & growth!

Check out our new outdoor kitchen! Big thanks to the Eggbeer family for making it happen! RPCNS students will enjoy it for years to come. Classes start next Wednesday!

It’s almost August, which means Fall is coming! Ms. Gina’s popular Music Time for Tots fall session dates have been announced. Register at www.musictimefortots.com. This class is perfect for children 12mo-4 years old!

Looking for a great summer reading rec? Check out the Katie Woo series, available at most MCPL branches. Katie Woo is a real life RPCNS alum (!) who has become the inspiration for a series of children’s literature (early readers & chapter books) written by her aunt, Fran Manushkin. You can read all about Katie encountering all of the joys and challenges of childhood in her curious, creative, and adventurous way. Happy reading!

As our school year comes to a close, it’s time for our graduating 4s to get their handprints painted. A longstanding tradition at RPCNS, the handprints commemorate all of the little ones who have passed through RPCNS through the years. Our Twos mom, Nancy, has been hard at work carefully painting and personalizing each handprint the past couple of weeks. Thank you Nancy! Next up, graduation!

We had so much fun at our annual Trike-A-Thon at the park yesterday. Our kids did great on 2, 3, and 4 wheels! Huge thank you to our families that raised over $1000 for St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital!

We were lucky to have amazing helpers here today for Take Your Child to Work Day! The big kids helped put artwork in mailboxes, helped the little ones with play dough and table top activities, and even set up an obstacle course on the playground for outdoor play. Most importantly, they saw how hard their moms work everyday as early childhood educators.
