CMR Boys Racing

Jr Drag Racing starting from the purchase of our first dragster in August 2010 from rebuild to race ready in August 2011.

New hobby started with the purchase of our first jr dragster for Carson on August 8, 2010, on that same day we contacted Raymond Beadle and was given the okay to use the iconic name of BlueMax on the side of the dragster. After months of rebuilding and updating, the car & driver made their first pass at Paris Dragstrip on August 20, 2011. In October 2011 Carson received his IHRA and NHRA license f

We loaded up and went to Xtreme Raceway Park where it was definitely a warm one. The track crew had the track on point and the car was varying lest then .008 all night. Collin was on a roll round after round with his lights and finish line driving!! After our small pit side mishap, he drove the best that I've seen him in a while. In the finals, he was paired up against his good friend Mikey, were he pulled off the runner-up spot! These 2 boys are good friends and enjoy racing each other. Congratulations Mikey on your win and will see you at the next one!!

We loaded up the race cars and headed to Xtreme Raceway Park so the boys can do what they do. had some engine trouble the last race and boy is it fixed now. Carson ran his best times since getting the S-10 but just couldn't pull off some win lights.

was driving the the wheels of the red car and was able to pull off the win in the Gambler's race Saturday. This race was sponsored by some very good people who put up the money and entry so the Jr kids could race. Collin raced a fierce competitor, Cash Pennington, in the final where Cash was -.018 and Collin was -.012 right behind him.

Our good friend Mikey Hammers, the owner of Collin's old car, was also in the final round of the Bracket race where he took the runner-up spot. This young man, last year, would only have dreamed to race a jr dragster but he fought through it and has become a very good racer his first year. Keep it up Mikey, you are doing a great job!!

We have a few more races left this season so keep up and follow along.

Weekend recap.

This past weekend was a first of many for our CMR Boys. We had our normal 2 Jr's, and Ava, along with racing the same race. Friday's race was just great with Collin making it to another final and winning and Carson making to his first ever final in the S-10 and getting the runner-up spot.

Saturday came and Collin was still driving really good and again made it to the finals where he was greener than his competitor which left him with the runner-up spot. Carson had the wait and see bye from Friday's race and actually had a bye run first round. Going into second round the truck wasn't cooling really good so when he staged the truck was a little warm. He was .002 to his competitors .0014 but the truck slowed due to it being hot. When he got back to the pit area we noticed the water pump and stopped working. He parked the truck and finished the night doing his main passion, announcing the race. The race was completed just about the time the sun came up. All in all a really good weekend. We will make the needed changes and will be back on the track soon.

Collin's is getting a new Nic Woods Racing motor and will be testing it Saturday.

This coming Sunday July 10th Carson will be getting baptized at our church, Baptist Church Farmersville at the 11 oclock service. If you are interested in joining us for this momentous occasion please let me know!!

An awesome night of racing under the lights!!! Race #1 recap for and .
We loaded up the boys and headed to I-30 Dragway for the 1st of 2 races for this weekend. Carson was racing the top in the truck and Collin had to resort back to ol' reliable, Carson's old car, due to his new motor getting here and not having time to test.

Collin started 1st round with an earned bye run and the car was a little too fast so we needed to add some weight. After adding weight we had the car on point and ready to. Second round he had to run is old car, Mikey Hammers, and we snuck by when Mikey kicked it -.0001 red. From then on, Collin was on point and took the win over Hannah in the final and parked it in the winners circle! Of course our final round tradition he got to pull the parachute.

Carson was wheeling the truck and was making some of the fastest passes the truck has made along with Carson being pretty solid on the tree. Had our luck with us 3rd round when he was .039 on the tree to be dead on zero and our opponent, Bryce Self, was .034 dead 6 which was .001 behind. Carson kept going rounds and eventually earned the bye at 5 to take us to 3 cars with an .001. Carson was able to get the win in the semi's to get a chance in the finals against a very racer and our friend McGlothin. Carson was able to pull of the runner-up spot for the night!!

A great night of racing for both the boys and ready to do it again this evening. Gates open at 6 pm and first time runs start at 8 pm. Come on out and watch.

Carson had a pretty good weekend at Ardmore Dragway. Started off the weekend with a warm-up race Friday night and a second round exit which allowed him to finish the night on the mic.

Started off Saturday morning time trial with .0000 reaction time , which earned him $100 for the first perfect light. That was also his first perfect light driving the truck. First round he cut it too close and was red and during the second round run the truck stumbled. Carson was then left to announce the race and finish Saturday's race on the mic.

Sunday the truck was still stumbling and he parked it and remained on the mic for the remainder. We would like to thank the awesome people at Ardmore Dragway, the Carrell family and our friends and racing family who helped to diagnose the truck. We are working through the hiccups and will get it running good.

This next weekend Carson is off to Louisiana to announce for Cody Pollage, CP Racing Promotions, so if you don't have a race scheduled you should check out his events!! Then the following weekend the CMR Boys Racing will be racing at I-30 Dragway!!

We are greatful for those who "GAVE ALL" for us to have the freedoms we have!!

See pictures for information on above listed races!!

That's a wrap of the 2021 Jr Dragster racing season. We started off with our local track opening back up, I-30 Dragway and also traveling to Ardmore Dragway where both of the boys held gold cards, 1 Track Championship and 1 WCF Championship. Carson was also hired to be the announcer for I 30, thanks to Brian Self and Keith Pelton. We also picked up a 3rd car to add to our racing program with me tuning, Ava Self in her 7.90 Jr dragster.

We started off the season with Carson making the first official pass and eventually winning "First I30 Jr Event Winner" and his first big check of the year. Collin was able to pull off a win in the Wanna-B Promotions Jr Dragster 8.90 Winner in April.

Collin was also able to park his Jr in the winners circle for a SWJD Series race along with a runner-up finish.

We made enough races to qualify for WCF for Ardmore Dragway. Carson was able to repeat a runner up finish in the Teel Memorial Race. The boys made a few rounds in the big race but weren't able to pull off a win.

We buckled down on our I 30 track points and Carson was able to pull off the 2021 I 30 Dragway Jr Dragster Track Championship. Both of the boys were able to pull off some wins along the way for some parking spots in the Winners Circle and some big checks.

We went to the IHRA Bracket Finals with Team I30 and were able to win the Team Event along with Carson winning the IHRA Division 4 Jr Dragster Championship.

During this weekend my mother, Helen Russell, became sick but wouldn't fully tell us how bad she was feeling due to Carson winning rounds and eventually winning the event. It was 3 days later, September 28th she went to be with our Lord and Savior. After that event, Carson decided not to race Jr's again. Collin would then move up into Carson's car to finish out the season to prepare for next year.

Collin went into the CP Racing Promotions with only 1 weekend of racing in Carson's 7.90 car and ended up doubling up the 2 day event.

We would like to thank all our friends and family who followed us all this year. I didn't do a lot of updates but when I did the support was very much appreciated!!! Thanks to IM Racing Fuels LLC, Dallas Karting Complex for your help this year.

2022 will start here soon and will have some huge developments coming so stay tuned.

We loaded up 3 hot rods and headed to Ardmore Dragway. Had Carson, Collin and Ava Self locked and loaded and ready to race. Collin and Ava went out second round so they were pulling for Carson to take it all the way. Carson made it to the final round were he raced Gage Wilson and wasn't able to get the win, so it was a runner up finish.

Thanks to Brian and Dana Self for allowing us to take Ava with us and race. We are headed to Tulsa for the NHRA Western Conference Finals and then back home for the big 4th of July race @ I30 Dragway. IM Racing Fuels LLC Precision Reprographics

We spent our I-30 Dragway testing the Camaro. Had some good seat time after getting some electrical gremlins worked out. Saturday we loaded up the Jr's and S-10 and made some runs. Carson wheeled the S-10 in a small gambler's race were he lost second round to the eventual race winner. Family time with your racing family is always a great time. Thanks to Bryan Self and Keith Pelton who helped with the gremlins. Until next weekend have a great week. IM Racing Fuels LLC Precision Reprographics

Weekend re-cap:

Our weekend plans were to take at I-30 Dragway all weekend but with mother nature arriving on Sunday we had a full day of racing set for Saturday.

First off was 7.90 index for and 8.90 index for . Carson was able to make it to the semi's where he lost to the eventual race winner. Collin was able to race a few rounds.

Next up was All-run and age group were Carson turned his racing suit in for the announcer microphone and we made room for Ava Self to race Carson's car and Collin his. I was pretty stressed on tuning Ava, along with her, because I had to change her routine to fit what our car likes and she did an amazing job. Age group for both were not very well so we focused on the All-run where Ava raced her way to 6 cars before getting kicking it a little red in the right lane. Collin was the lone 8.90 car at 6 which he eventually runnered-up.

The racing continued with a Bracket 330 race where again Ava made it to 6 cars where she again kicked it red in the right lane. Collin, very tired from going 7 rounds in All-run, had an average reaction time of .130 but we were getting the win light. Collin was getting lucky and raced his way to the final and the win when his competitor kicked it red in the right lane.

All in all, and girl raced a total of 31 rounds of racing.

Thanks to all our racing friends and family for all your support which fuels our passion for racing. The track crew, SWJD Series and racers for the racing and our Lord and Savior who ride with us each and every pass and keep us safe and sound!!

First race of the 2021 racing season started off with a win in the Jr Dragster Consolation race. Collin made a few rounds in modified, even with the car stumbling. I was able to finally make the correct adjustments only to kick it red in the quarter finals. Caraon also received his 2020 Track Championship jacket and plaque. Off a couple of weeks then back for a full weekend of racing!! IM Racing Fuels LLC Precision Reprographics
