RRT had an awesome time Sunday speeding through a lot of gravel, sand and washboards. It was a fast and challenging course with a sold-out 300 talented riders, but Chad Hogan was able to podium 2nd in age and 8th overall! Gregg Poe followed behind with 9th in age (36th overall), and Wes Rogers followed close behind. Thank you to R3 Express Gravel Challenge for the awesome time had by all! We will surely be back.
Enjoy mountain biking? RRT had a good showing at the Terra Firma Racing Rock Dallas Dozen 6-Hour Endurance Race this weekend, with Gregg Poe taking 2nd in Age and 7th Overall. Come join us! We race together often and have group rides throughout the week for all upper skill levels.
HOTTER THAN HELL RECAP:
Now that we have recovered from the heat (117 degrees) and crazy efforts from this weekend, it's time for some celebration!
It was a very successful weekend at for RRT! Gregg Poe started the weekend with 3rd in MTB on Friday morning. The next morning, all of our riders PRed the 100 Mile Ride (everyone faster than 20 mph), and many, like Graeme Caguiat, broke their goal of sub 5-hours! Just a few hours later, we had a gravel crew trade their aero bikes for their battle-cruisers in the 60 mile Grava Del Fuego. Chad Hogan blew the doors off with a 1st place gravel finish, Jen Cory Hogan moved up to 4th place this year and Gregg Poe placed fifth! Finally, and probably most impressive, our newest member, Gary L. Jefferson II, completed his first Century with a very respectable time!
Congrats to all RRT members! Now get some rest, but not too much. ;)
REMINDER: Come join the chill ride tonight!
Hotter ‘n Hell 100 in Wichita Falls!
Gregg Poe placed third in MTB today and we have a bunch doing the road ride in the morning along with some who are crazy enough to come back for gravel in the evening.
Send it!
Our Wednesday Night Chill ride is always a serene was to get through to the best part of the week. Come join us next Wednesday night!
It's almost Wednesday again! Come out and join us for our chill ride. We may be causing a little slower this week as a lot of us have races at Hotter Than Hell to be ready for. But, that means more fun for everyone!
Tomorrow night, be there, or be... somewhere else not nearly as fun.
Race Report: Ray Porter 6-Hour Endurance
RRT had a wonderful time supporting a great cause for Big Pig Cancer Foundation this weekend. Great race, even though the tempts were brutal (107 at the start).
Chad Hogan placed 10th overall, 2nd in the 40s and Gregg Poe placed 17th overall, 4th in 50s.
Come join us tonight for some night riding!
Join us for the Chill Ride tonight!
Live in South Rockwall County, Forney or Kaufman area and want a fast-paced ride with an awesome group. Join RRT, and ride leader Graeme Caguiat, Friday mornings! Ride starts and stops at Latham Bakery Forney, so make sure you swing in and grab some coffee or pastry after!
Wednesday night is approaching... This is a Choose-Your-Own-Pain ride, so bring the bike that matches your challenge level. (Road = Chill, Gravel Bike = Challenging, MTB = Hellish). Average is 16-18 over 28 miles, with a few roller hills. Pace will be social/party, but there will be a few sprint points for those wanting to get froggy. We will stop and collect at the major turns and intersections.
Come out tomorrow morning for a great social ride! Average is 16-18 over ~40 miles, with a few roller hills. Pace will be social/party, but there will be a few sprint points for those wanting to get froggy. We will stop and collect at the major turns and intersections. A favorite part of the ride is the stop 1/2 way at Latham Bakery Forney for some good coffee/tea/refreshments. Bring whatever bike (gravel, road, mob) you will feel challenged/comfortable at this pace.
We will have a group of not-so-racers starting from Playtri Rockwall in the morning at 8am. If you can maintain a pace of 16-18mph over about 40 miles, come on out and enjoy some riding. The best part is the coffee stop 1/2 way in Forney at Latham Bakery Forney. (It's worth it just for the baked and brewed goods)
If you average faster than 19mph, feel free to join the A-group at 7:30am for a little faster and longer ride.
So we are thinking about doing something a little different tonight. Everyone needs a little hill training for some upcoming rides, so...
Meeting at Squabble Creek parking lot at 6:30pm for a little RRT hill training in the Shores neighborhoods. This is a great route, because as the faster climbers zoom to the top, the slower climbers can just cut off a little of the climb and follow them back down or just wait at the bottom of the hill on a couple of them. We WILL be re-grouping every couple of hills to make sure everyone stays together.
We will be back to our standard Wednesday Night ride from PlayTri ride next week!

RRT- Rockwall North Hill Training Great hill training route. Not for the faint of heart. You can double it for some serious climbing. - 26.4 mi, +2225 ft. Bike ride in Rockwall, TX
RRT had yet another successful CHILL night ride. The lights were flashing and the wheels were a-blazin'. We had folks on gravel bikes and some on road bikes, and everyone rode to their particular spunk/chill level. Come join us on Wednesday Nights at 7pm at PlayTri Rockwall!

Not into racing, but more the adventurous endurance riding type? Come join us on one of our adventure rides... like the 160-Mile, 3-Day Bikepacking tour a couple of our members just completed in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Big thanks to Spinistry for the wonderful route suggestion! (It could possibly be the best gravel/adventure route in Texas)
This guy! He’s doing things.
