After our previous post about Guion Bluford, an awesome employee Joel Babcock came forward with this signed photograph of the STS-53 mission crew! He obtained it from his father-in-law who worked for NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration and knew the crew! Thanks Joel!

Next on our list for , we're putting a spotlight on Guion ‘Guy’ Bluford. Bluford was the first African American astronaut to travel to space. His first trip, mission STS-8, was in 1983 on the shuttle orbiter Challenger. At the end of his fourth mission, he logged over 688 hours in space.

Cornelius Coffey (1902-1994)

Born in Newport, Arkansas, Cornelius was the first African American to hold both a pilot license and aircraft mechanic certification. Having struggled to find a pilot course that would train him, he decided to establish the first black-owned and certified flight school.

First up from our list: Bessie Coleman (1892-1926)

Pictured below, Bessie Coleman was the first African American and the first Native American, woman pilot. She gained popularity quickly through her dangerous stunt performances. Refusing to perform anywhere segregated, she fought discrimination and encouraged both African Americans and women to fly.

We celebrated the grand opening of our new addition. After 2 years in the making, all of us are excited about this thrilling new chapter. We want to thank everyone that had a contribution to this stunning building. Thank you, TAD Construction, Burnett Electric inc. , Joco Plumbing, and All-Star Cooling. We appreciate the hard work and craftsmanship that was displayed in our facility. Huge thank you to Burris Architecture for our modern and functional design.

At our event, we were happy to have so many people share their enthusiasm with us. We really appreciate your continued patronage of our company. Thank you, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman Corporation for also taking the time to come to NW Arkansas and show your support.

We would also like to make a special thank you to US Congressman Steve Womack for his visit and Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge. It was an honor and privilege to have Attorney General Leslie Rutledge travel to Northwest Arkansas to speak at our event and get to know our workforce. She is the first woman in Arkansas history to be elected as Attorney General, has served our state as such since 2015, and has announced her candidacy for Governor of Arkansas. Thank you, Attorney General!

We had the honor of hosting and being a part of a round table discussion for SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman and Congressman Steve Womack on Friday. It was great being able to share our SBA experience, hear from fellow community business leaders, and learn about new SBA opportunities!
