Wards Creek Restoration Project was happy to be a part of Rogue River Oregon Arbor Day event at Palmerton Park yesterday! Our very own Niki Murphy talked with the 5th and 6th graders about the importance of trees 🌲 to our environment, alongside Mike Oxendine and the wonderful group of people at Tree City USA.
Did you know that Rogue River is celebrating its 42nd year as a tree city? Palmerton Park is a beautiful arboretum with some stunning trees! Mike Oxendine took the kids (and me) through the park and taught us about several of the trees we are honored to have here. So fun and educational!
Planting trees is a great way to help with the environment and give back. We are working specifically with native plants and trees to help restore riparian areas and remove invasive plants, starting with Wards Creek.
