MYDT Covid -19 Closure organized by Janet Blacik

Midwest Youth Dance Theatre closed its doors on 3/17 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As this year is our 25th anniversary, we were hoping to celebrate with everyone, but instead are asking for your help to keep the studio afloat until we can get back to our in-person classes. We are offering some online classes to keep dancers engaged, but teachers aren’t getting paid and we need rent and other fixed expense funds. Graduates, friends, past and present MYDT families, we ask for your help. We want to be able carry on our mission for many years and many students to come. We fully understand that many people are struggling financially right now but if you are able, the studio and faculty would greatly appreciate your aid. Congrats to our Level 4-6 dancers on a fantastic weekend at Triple S Dance Competition! Highlights from the weekend include:

First place overall Senior Duet to Willa Gulstrand and Blessie Tandon

Seventh place overall Senior Solo to Katerina Misa

Third place overall Senior Solo and a Judges' Choice Award to Blessie Tandon

First place overall Senior Solo and an Encore Performance for Willa Gulstrand

Level 4B, 5 & 6 classes received 9 of the 16 overall high scores awarded to Teen and Senior Small Groups, plus third overall Teen Large Group for Level 4B

An Encore Performance for Level 5 Musical Theatre

Choreography Award for Level 5 Ballet

And... MYDT received the Sportsmanship Award!!

Congratulations to the cast of "Kiss"! It was a fantastic show weekend, and we are so proud of all of our dancers!

Our winter show "Kiss" is just one week away! Teachers and students have been working hard in our adaptation of The Sleeping Beauty told through the music of Prince. Performances are Friday January 13th at 7pm, and Saturday January 14th at 2pm & 7pm. All performances are at Hamline University Drew Fine Arts Center. Adults $14, Students $10.

Huge congrats to our Senior Advanced Duet dancers on last night's results: Jacque Lenarz and Katerina Misa placed second overall, and Blessie Tandon and Katrina Phidd were Grand Champions! We're so proud of you!

Congrats to our soloists on a great first day at Eclipse! Special congrats to Jacque Lenarz for placing 2nd and 3rd overall among senior advanced soloists!

Congrats to our MYDT dancers on a fantastic weekend at Triple S!
