If you haven’t attended a water exercise class with Roseville Community Education, you can join us for FREE the week of September 16 - 20, 2024 to try the class out! 🎉 We offer a variety of different classes and our pool is kept at a comfortable 86 degrees. 🤿 If you’ve attended one of these classes before, you can still try out a different water exercise class for free! ✅

Roseville Community Education is seeking a Program Specialist to coordinate our Meals on Wheels program that delivers meals to older adults and adults with disabilities in our community! 🚗 😊 Supervise our volunteers who pack and distribute the meals, administer the intake process for clients, and assist with day-to-day operations. 📝 🍽️

Students in our summer Friendship Connection program at Brimhall Elementary School participated in a group workshop with Elpis Enterprises yesterday! 🪛 🔨 With the guidance of Elpis staff, students constructed bird feeders and nesting boxes made out of reclaimed and recycled cedar fences. 🐦‍⬛ 🪺

Our students enjoyed learning about the tools needed to build a bird house, figuring out the correct assembly steps, and seeing their final projects come together. 😊

Elpis is a local non-profit that provides job training, work experience, and employment placement services for young people experiencing homelessness, teen parenting, or involvement in the foster care system. Elpis woodworking trainees manufacture ready-to-assemble project kits, like the kits our students used to make their bird feeders. 🪚 🪵 Elpis interns and staff then lead experiential workshops using the pre-cut materials. They have hosted free workshops for over 5,000 students at schools across the metro (like Brimhall!) in the past two years. 🎉

Join us for an exciting week of game design! 🎮 This camp, run by Tech Academy, will give you hands-on experience developing your own game. 👾 Students will create their own version of asteroids from scratch using construct 3, a visual coding platform that teaches students the basics and structure of programming. Edgerton Elementary School students in our Unity Center program got a special visit yesterday from Oscar the therapy dog! 🐾 Oscar is a golden doodle who is specially trained to provide comfort, support, and affection in community environments. 🐶 Our students enjoyed petting Oscar, talking to him, shaking his paw (a new trick that Oscar has learned), and even sharing some hugs with the dog! As you can see by the big smile on Oscar's face, he enjoyed the company and all of the attention, too! 😊
