Ruthie's List is a 15 year old list of over 10,000 members – made up of ONLY Recruiters & Human Resou
This is what I do with my 15 year old "Ruthie List" --which is made up of over 10,000 + HR Managers and Recruiters in the Atlanta area [primarily]: (1) helping all of my friends/friends who have lost their recruiting and HR jobs and notifying them of openings (2 ) keeping the recruiter/HR family informed of networking meetings in the area (3) help people with questions [like...who knows a good o
utplacement firm] and get them answers and (4) help people who are friends of friends needing work and send them (by email) to people who know people who need them. There are recruiters and hiring authorities all over the US on my list. Primarily, I have Atlanta positions listed, but the recruiters on the list know people throughout the country. Taking care of others is a great high for me......all of this brings me great joy. The members of this list could be a big help to you...if they don't have an opening, they will know someone who will!
...If you'd like me to send out your (or a friend's) resume in the future ... write a blurb (in 3rd person, as if I'm describing YOU...) with something that says "his background is ___" and "he's looking for ______" [feel free to be specific and examples, etc.] and I'll attach your resume and send it out!
...If you're a recruiter and you'd like free referrals from fellow recruiters, you may POST your positions through me TO the Ruthie List. Not only will all the recruiters/HR managers receive it, but also the various yahoo and church networks as well. Many members of the Ruthie List find it particularly helpful to post their needs for RECRUITERS and HR candidates, as this is a select audience! If you do post a job, my suggestion would be to always tell in what part of Atlanta (midtown, Buford, etc.) it is located and to put ONLY your email address to avoid a large number of phone calls. Lastly, your thought might be..."what does she get out of all this?"
The answer is...everyone knows someone looking for work or looking to hire someone…. Remember (Zig Ziglar says)..."You can get anything in life you want if you'll just help enough other people get what they want." Just click on "join the group" in the lower right corner and that's it! Did you know YOU can look at ALL the job postings and candidates that have been published on The Ruthie List...since I transferred to Yahoo Groups on April 25, 2005
Believe it or not...I have an actual system! All "candidates" have that word in their subject line
All "position"s have that words in the subject line
So...if you want to find a particular skillset of candidate, go to http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/TheRuthieList
and sign in
Then look on the left side for "MESSAGES" and click
Then go to SEARCH on the top near the middle and type:
candidate [one space between] and then the skillset you need
EXAMPLE:
Candidate recruit
candidate banking
candidate admin
Also, if you're looking for a contract recruiting (or any other position) opportunity and you'd like to see the most recent postings:
Then look on the left side for "MESSAGES" and click
Then go to SEARCH on the top near the middle and type:
position [one space between] and then the skillset you need
EXAMPLE:
Position recruit
position banking
position admin
position accounts receivable
Keep in mind, you will receive as many as 20 emails a day, as a member of the Ruthie List. Many people (while joining the list) choose the membership options of "no email" or "daily digest" so they will not have so many emails in their inbox. To set this up: Go to http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/TheRuthieList/
and go to "edit membership" in blue letters above the blue bar and you will see options for a daily digest, which is one email a day, or you can check special notices (I send none of them) and you'll get none, and you can just check the board.
