The Southern Region Volleyball Association is one of the 40 Regional Governing Bodies in the United States for Volleyball. We work with USA Volleyball in implementing volleyball programming in our geographic area.
The Southern Region operates as a non-profit and non-government-supported organization and is organized and governed by an elected volunteer Board of Directors.
Our mission is to promote, develop, and expand volleyball opportunities for individuals within the region. Our goal is to provide support and resources for players, coaches, officials, and club leadership to improve skills and enhance the enjoyment of the game within a safe, positive environment.
What better day than today to reach out to someone who has made an impact on your life and let them know you appreciate them? Shout out your favorite coaches, clubs, or teammates in the comments below!
When you hear "SRVA" what's your first thought? Maybe all you know is there's an annual membership fee... well here's how we use those fees to better our region:
We host and subsidize the Region Championships, 18's Bid event, and Beach Regionals.
Recruiting, training, and supporting the development of Officials. (We need more officials if you're interested!)
Providing staff support to Club Directors, Tournament Directors, Coaches, Players, and Families.
24 $2000 scholarships to our members divided equally amongst the three states we cover- over $100,000 in scholarships awarded!
Grants of up to $100 to financially challenged members. https://www.srva.org/giving-back page.
Support of the AVCA Diversity Awards Program: we provide two coaches the opportunity to attend the AVCA Convention. (AVCA Convention Registration, hotel accommodations, a $500 travel stipend, and all convention programming)
We support the growth of boys' volleyball in clubs and we're working to make it a High School Varsity sport as well. There are grants available to new and current clubs that offer boys' volleyball. We are developing a program to incentivize High Schools to start club teams as part of the initial steps to reach the Varsity sports goal.
At the end of the season, we provide $500 grants to the clubs which have met the requirements outlined on the website. The majority of our Clubs are smaller and this reinvestment is important to them. Some clubs use it to offset some of the costs of internal scholarships, buying new balls, helping to secure practice sites, and the list goes on.
We created a Region High-Performance program to provide an opportunity for the top junior athletes in the SRVA to experience high-level training and skill development with some of the top college coaches from their region.

We invest in Coach education, purchasing silver and gold-level memberships in the USAV Coaching Academy and distributing these throughout all of our clubs.
Better-educated Coaches are a benefit for our players and sharing this with all clubs regardless of size helps everyone.
