Boating season kicks off this Sunday with the Sacramento Yacht Club’s opening day boat parade! We invite members of the public to watch the boat parade at Crawdads On The River (best to call for reservation).

It's going to be another busy season on the Sacramento River! Looking for a versatile job that never gets old? We are hiring dock hands to start immediately. No boating experience necessary - we providing training! Join our team and spend your summer by the water!

Riverbank Marina is now hiring for the boating season. We are currently accepting seeking a qualified individual for our Dock Hand Supervisor. This position will be part of our Dock Hand Team and will oversee/manage the Marina Dock Hands. Our Dock Hand Team is hired for the boating season to keep Marina tenants and guests safe, assist marina tenants, and help maintain a fun but regulated environment on the river. Our Dock Hand Team assists in a variety of tasks making this job versatile and anything but routine!
Primary Dock Hand Supervisor Duties:
• Supervise the Dock Hand Team on-site during the boating season
• Act as a go-between office staff and Dock Hand Team
• Assign Dock Hand duties/locations and ensuring they stay on task
• Monitor Dock Hand schedules to make sure lunch and breaks are taken on time
• Email daily reports/logs to all Marina staff
• Work with the Dock Hand Team, hired parking lot attendants, contracted security and other staff to maintain the first-class atmosphere at Riverbank Marina
• On-site contact for late night issues

• Assist in all Dock Hand duties including:
• Ensure all Riverbank Marina rules & regulations, policies and procedures are being adhered to by tenants and guests
• Guest Docking and Dinner Docking for those visiting the Marina via boat
• Collect Dinner Docking and Guest Docking fees from visiting boaters
• Monitoring the Accommodation Dock (in front of Crawdads)
• Help tenants in docking their boat, carrying coolers and belongings, and delivering ice
• Keep the property looking clean and safe by emptying trash and cleaning up any spills
• Patrol the property to discourage vandalism, theft, and loitering
• Maintain a safe environment on the docks at all times

Dock Hand Supervisor should have the following experience:
• Managing Employees
• Customer Service/Customer Relations
• Effective commination skills via email and written reports
• Delegate and prioritize tasks
• Knowledge of marina operations and/or boating is a plus
• Security, law enforcement or military experience is a plus

Dock Hand Supervisor requirements:
• Be a strong swimmer
• Have own reliable transportation & valid drivers license
• Able to walk up and down stairs numerous times in a shift
• Able to carry heavy loads
• Able to work outside in the hot Sacramento sun

Schedule: The Dock Hand Supervisor position begins in April and ends at the end of September/beginning of October (weather dependent). The prospective Dock Hand Supervisor must be available: Thursday – Sunday between 3:00 p.m. – 2 a.m., ALL Holidays (Cinco de Mayo, Memorial Day, July 4th, the 3rd weekend of August & Labor Day), and be able to commit to working the entire season, through at least end of September.

Our Dock Hand Team consists of our Dock Hand Supervisor and a team of 5-6 Dock Hands - all overseen by our Assistant Harbor Master. Our Dock Hand Team is hired for the boating season to keep Marina tenants and guests safe, assist marina tenants, and help maintain a fun but regulated environment on the river. Our Dock Hand Team assists in a variety of tasks making this job versatile and anything but routine!

Primary Dock Hand duties include:

• Assist in Guest Docking and Dinner Docking for those visiting the Marina via boat.
• Collect Dinner Docking and Guest Docking fees from visiting boaters.
• Monitor the Accommodation Dock (in front of Crawdads) to make sure it does not get overcrowded, guests are patronizing the restaurants and side-tie rules are being followed.
• Help tenants in docking their boat, carrying coolers and belongings, and delivering ice when requested.
• Maintain security on the docks by monitoring security gates, keeping non-tenants out of tenant slips, and enforcing the Marina’s rules and regulations.
• Keep the property looking clean by emptying trash cans, picking up trash and cleaning up any messes.
• Patrol the property to discourage vandalism, theft and loitering. Work with other dock hands, hired parking lot attendants, contracted security and other staff to maintain the first-class atmosphere at Riverbank Marina.

Additional Dock Hand duties include:
• Office/Dock Inventory
• Perform daily opening and closing job duties
• Assist and support special events at the marina that may take place outside of normal operating hours
• Line handing skills including ability to tie various knots, toss and cleat lines

Dock Hand should have the following experience:
• Customer Service/Customer Relations
• Effective commination skills via email and written reports
• Knowledge of marina operations and/or boating
• Security or military experience is a plus!

Dock Hands must meet the following requirements:
• Strong swimmer
• Have own reliable transportation
• Able to walk up and down stairs numerous times in a shift
• Able to carry heavy loads up and down stairs
• Able to work outside in the hot Sacramento sun

Our boating season runs April through September, even October. Our Dock Hands work all summer holidays. We offer 2 schedules for our Dock Hands.

Schedule 1: Daytime
Tuesday - Friday, 11/Noon - 6/7 PM

Schedule 2: Night
Thursday - Sunday 6/7PM - Midnight/1 AM
