One of Sacramento’s greatest baseball players was inducted into the Sacramento Area Baseball Hall of Fame last weekend. Nick Johnson was one of the finest athletes to ever grace the fields of McClatchy High School. He played in the majors for 12 years and retired with a sterling .399 on base percentage average. Congratulations McClatchy legend, Nick Johnson!!

‘The real deal’: How McClatchy High grad Malcolm Moore became a Stanford baseball star The former McClatchy High School slugger was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year at Stanford.

Congrats Jaylen Hodges and Shon Lor for being selected to play in the Senior Optimist All Star game. The game is tomorrow, Sunday at 5 pm, Army Depot Baseball Fields. They will playing for the Large Schools South team.

We celebrated our seniors today at Bernie Church Field. They didn’t disappoint. 8-2 win over River City to clinch the Metro League Championship! 3 Peat! Go Lions!!
