This award honors a young physician whose work has made a significant contribution to improving access and reducing disparities in health care, improving cultural competency, and promoting patient advocacy in California. Dr. Morm is a core faculty member in the AltaMed Health Services Family Medicine Residency Program and Faculty Lead for inpatient care, as well as co-director for the Refugee Health Alliance.
Congrats to Bria Pettway, M.D., 2024 CA Resident Health Equity Leadership Award recipient! This award honors a resident who is working diligently to be part of the next generation of physician leaders dedicated to improving health equity among those Californians facing the greatest barriers to care. Dr. Pettway is a 4th year OB/GYN resident at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center. After residency, she plans to return to work as an OB/GYN in Fontana, in the same hospital she was born in!
