David Copenhaver AIA, is featured in John Burns Research and Consulting's latest article. Dave highlights the importance of flex spaces in home design: "We try to include flex spaces in every home, regardless of size... Larger rooms inherently have more flexibility in how they are used, but that doesn't mean buyers don’t still want the specialized features that today's flex rooms offer."

Our recent case study highlights the impactful role of AI in architecture.
Using Midjourney, we designed a mixed-use multifamily building featuring three floors of residential living above a retail floor at street level. When our client conducted their own AI-generated design, the contrast was stark, emphasizing how crucial architectural expertise is in harnessing AI effectively. This project demonstrates that blending professional insight with AI not only leads to precise, client-centered outcomes but also reinforces the essential role of architects in translating advanced technology into practical, real-world solutions.

The multifamily project, Bayswater, faced a multitude of challenges, from strict zoning designations to the necessity of maintaining a three-story street frontage on a tight infill parcel. The design team skillfully navigated these complexities by introducing Baroque-inspired rooflines and strategically recessed fourth-floor units to preserve the illusion of a three-story structure while meeting density targets.
