With well over a thousand lifetime YPN Members, it's not hard to find young professionals who are proud of their time with the organization! One of those Members is Neil Combs, physician office coordinator for Covenant HealthCare Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Get to know more about his experience as a YP in this 🎂SWEET 16🎂 feature. ICYMI: the Saginaw County YPN has been offering programming for 16 years!

1️⃣Why did you join the Saginaw County YPN?
▶️I recently moved into town from Texas in May of 2014 due to my wife being in residency with CMU Medicine and I did not have a job at the time. The YPN was a terrific opportunity for me to meet new people and network as much as possible.

2️⃣Tell us about your most memorable moment as a Member of the YPN.
▶️I have three memorable moments. The first is when I initially joined the YPN I learned to play golf for the first time in my life in the YPN golf league. I never knew how important golf was to me until I played with friends from the YPN. The second was winning the YPN bowling league in 2022 with my team. Finally, my last memorable moment was working on the YPN steering committee. So many important and lasting decisions are made by this committee.

3️⃣The YPN's mission is to support the attraction and retention of young talent to the Saginaw Valley and Great Lakes Bay Region while developing the next generation of leaders. Tell us about how the YPN fulfills this mission, in your opinion.
▶️If I had not joined the YPN when I moved to Michigan, there is no guarantee that I would still be living in Saginaw. Getting involved with the YPN gave me access to the social pipeline of the area and I still have close friends today because of being a member. This is only one of the countless ways the YPN fulfills their mission of keeping young talent in the area.

4️⃣What wishes do you have for the YPN as it moves into its next 16 years?
▶️I only wish that other YPN members such as myself have the same positive experiences. Now that I have lived here for over 10 years, I have discovered that many transplants move to this area from all over the US and even the world. The YPN truly gives people in the area an opportunity to meet new people and create great relationships along the way.
