⭐️COMBAT MEDIC SPECIALIST⭐️
The Combat Medic is primarily responsible for providing emergency medical treatment, limited primary care, and health protection and evacuation from a point of injury or illness.
JOB DUTIES
⛑️ Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties
⛑️ Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment
⛑️ Prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis
⛑️ Prepare patients, operating rooms, equipment and supplies for surgery
📍TRAINING
Job training for a Combat Medic Specialist requires:
10 weeks of Basic Combat Training
16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, TX , including practice of inpatient care.
Some of the skills you'll learn are:
-Patient care techniques
-Emergency medical techniques
-Methods of sterilizing surgical equipment
-Plaster-casting techniques
HELPFUL SKILLS
-Interest in helping and caring for others
-Ability to communicate effectively and work under stressful conditions
-Interest in chemistry, biology, psychology, general science and algebra
-High attention to detail
REQUIRED ASVAB SCORE(S)
Skilled Technical (ST): 101
General Technical (GT): 107
FUTURE CIVILIAN CAREERS
The skills you learn will help prepare you for a career with civilian hospitals, clinics, nursing homes or rehabilitation centers. With a background as a Health Care Specialist, you may consider a career as an emergency medical technician, medical assistant, medication aide or physician assistant.
With continued study and experience, you may qualify for certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as a first responder.

⭐️INFANTRYMAN⭐️
The Infantry is the main land combat force and fighting foundation of the National Guard. They are responsible for defending our country against any threat by land, as well as capturing, destroying and repelling enemy ground forces.
JOB DUTIES
-Perform as a member of a fire team during drills and combat
-Aid in the mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry
-Assist in reconnaissance missions
Process prisoners of war and captured documents
Use, maintain and store combat weapons (e.g., rifles, machine guns, antitank mines, etc.)
TRAINING
Twenty-two weeks of One Station Unit Training, which includes 10 weeks and 3 days of Basic Combat Training and 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field at Fort Moore, GA.

Combat (CO): 87

Military Police protect the lives and property on Army National Guard installations by enforcing military laws and regulations. They also control traffic, prevent crime and respond to all emergencies.
JOB DUTIES
-Complete law enforcement patrols
-Interview witnesses, victims and suspects in investigations
-Secure and process crime scenes
-Arrest and charge criminal suspects
TRAINING
Job training for military police requires 19 weeks, 1 day of One Station Unit Training, and on-the-job instruction in police methods. Part of this time is spent in the classroom, and part takes place in the field. Advanced Individual Training is 9 weeks and 1 day at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Some of the skills you’ll learn are:
-Basic warrior skills and use of fi****ms
-Military/civil laws and jurisdiction
-Investigating and collecting evidence
-Traffic and crowd control
-Arrest and restraint of suspects
