A beautiful day to send some high-angle hate at Ethan Allen Firing Range! One team….One fight… Ready to go!
3rd Battalion 172nd Infantry-Mountain 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team - Mountain 172nd Public Affairs Detachment Vermont National Guard
Ransom Troopers recently wrapped up a busy weekend at Ethan Allen Firing Range. The primary focus if drill was marksmanship instruction followed by individual weapons qualification on the M4 rifle and M17 pistol. The weather cooperated for ideal fall conditions.
Around the main event, All Squadron muscle was flexed from S-1 and full-time staff focused on ensuring Soldiers are prepared to compete for promotions, to D CO 186 BSB - Diesel Company flexing Distro, Humvee maintenance, and outstanding field chow.
Congratulations to the many Troopers who were promoted this weekend, we look forward to your leadership and impact in the next chapter of our storied history. We welcomed CPT Hemmerling to HHT during his change of command ceremony with CPT Corneau in beautiful downtown St. Albans, and we look forward to CPT Corneau’s continued leadership as the incoming BlackJack 6.
C Troop 1/172 Cavalry hosted friends, family, and several VIP guests at the EAFR chapel for an incredibly moving memorial and tribute to remember SGT Cody Surprise. Heroes only die when they’re forgotten. SGT Surprise’s infectious positive attitude, achievements, and leadership will live on through the dedication if the C Troop Armory Gym in his name.
We said farewell to Hatchet 7, 1SG Stewart. It is impossible to capture the impact a senior leader like 1SG Stewart has contributed to future leaders across 3/172 Infantry and 1/172 Cavalry during an impressive career with countless achievements. It is fair to say he will be missed, but we wish him all the best in his retirement and future endeavors.
