To the YMCA and staff,
Although words can't express how grateful I am to be a part of your family my hopes are to give a glimpse of how thankful I am to the YMCA and staff for making us feel so welcomed and offering us so much. The programs like child care while utilizing the gym has been a huge blessing. I’m so thankful I can take my kids with me knowing they will have fun and be embraced with love. Again, words can't express the gratitude of having a place that I can go to knowing no matter how the day has been love, healing, growth and a warm smile await for us at the YMCA of St. Joseph.
Over the past year my family has went through major life changes. And personally I’ve went through my own, having experienced a traumatic shoulder injury requiring surgery. Being a single father of three wonderful kids our traverse experience had lead us to the YMCA. The YMCA has become a stable in our journey to find healing growth and Joy.
On May 22, my kids and I were blessed with an unforgettable day. As there was so much joy that day, we didn't have time to take a picture. In leu of this the kids and I agreed to paint a picture to memorialize the day. As you'll see in the drawing it's just us enjoying a day at the YMCA surrounded by what I believe nothing short of God’s Love, Mercy and Grace. A time we will remember the simple things in life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you again for making us feel like part of your family and least we forget" It's a great day at the YMCA"!
Sincerely, Justin T. Chilcoat-Barron

This week we learned the importance of Know. See. Respond. and gained practical tools for preventing child sexual abuse—but our work is never done. The YMCA of St. Joseph is committed to year-round prevention, and we hope you are, too! Stay connected and informed by visiting fivedaysofaction.org.
How can you RESPOND to the call to help prevent child sexual abuse? As a parent or caregiver, you may know it’s important to talk about it, but you may not know what or when to say it. Committee for Children has created the Hot Chocolate Talk campaign, packing decades of research into easy-to-use guides to help you begin these crucial conversations – at any age, from toddler to teen. Visit cfchildren.org/resources/child-abuse-prevention/ to learn more and empower your child to report and refuse sexual abuse.

Media and technology are at the center of children’s lives every day. With more of life happening online, what catches their attention isn’t always what’s best for them.
