He’s a personalized email with options for clubs to help two novice golfers get started. There’s a lot of different options and price ranges that can work for all golfers. A lot of my new students can get away with the clubs they have for quite a while, and some have clubs that aren’t going to be functional for their size or their swing. Let me know if you have any questions for your own game!
Don’t say I didn’t warn you. I played golf on Feb. 27 & 28 in 1998.
Stick with the set of irons that are fit properly, launch/spin correctly where you know how far they go.
and break down how instruction is (should be) organized and how good players take lessons and practice to get better. If you are wondering how my mind works during the coaching process, these guys explain it better than I could myself.
Too good not to share.

This should be mandatory reading to become a Professional…. And is a pretty interesting and useful read for any golfer looking to improve their game.

Lido! Thanks !!
When they ask if you teach “Stack and Tilt”…My teaching methods are based on physics of what the club should be doing and biomechanics of what the body needs to do to create proper clubhead dynamics. Very simply, a model would be the club to come slight from the inside with a squared up enough clubface and a low point of the swing arc in front of the ball. Then the bonus is speed. That’s what we want. If someone wants a shot shape that’s not a straight or baby draw shot then we can easily adjust....OR if someone needs to do something differently to hit the ball solid we can easily make adjustments to that model. The “Stack and Tilt” method is an incorporation of what good players have done over time. You can over do things that they may stress just like anything But speaking of not moving off the ball in the backswing, for example, that issue is the most common fault for amateur golfers. Good golfers will stay centered in the backswing and some may bump away from the target in inch in the backswing then get back to the left early in the transition. 99.9% of good golfers don’t move their head away from the target more than an inch in the backswing with an iron. And good golfers tend to have their body much more left at impact than average golfers. They are just biomechanics that help create hitting the ball first. For someone like you, it would be helpful to do what “stack and tilt” would preach you do in the backswing.
I will be accepting my trophy on this green on July 30th. I decided to skip The Open to focus on my hometown event. 🏆
Make sure to have real spiked shoes for when it really matters.
What are your thoughts? Which should be #1? What courses within 3.5 hours should be on this list instead?
If you slicing don’t play baseball!
Thanks, Jesse!
A big slice could take a while to fix… sometimes the equivalent in the putting stroke can be fixed rapidly.
is smart. Distance control > distance
Was able to 9 at this afternoon. The Course was in great shape. First time I’ve seen green undulation on the GPS. Very cool! And always nice to get a ride across 8 the pontoon.
🚨READ FOR THE KEY TAKEAWAY:
1) Get in some practice where you are able to hit well or create the new improved pattern.
2) When you get home or before bed, spend 10 to 15 visualizing the proper swing mechanics. It doesn’t have to be full speed. Do a couple visualizations then rest for 15 seconds. Your brain doesn’t really understand the difference between visualizing yourself doing it or actually doing it.
3) Then GET GOOD SLEEP! This is when your brain really takes the time to “retrain the neurons”.
Bonus: If you don’t have time to warm up before a round, take some time to visualize your good motion on the way to the course.
**Super Bonus: Especially before a big round, visualize, playing the course the way you want to play it the next day. You can even visualize holding up the trophy and giving a speech:) It may seem silly, but your brain will think you already did it, and you’ll be less nervous.
This helps understand the learning process. Many times you can create nice gains quickly, but there are also plateaus. If you are patient and chip away at the learning process, you will undoubtably get better. You don’t have to fit a bunch of lessons in a short period of time… the important thing is to continue the process over time.
Nobody deserves to have golf theory spouted to them in a golf lesson. They deserve an opportunity to get after it and start hitting the ball better.
numbers looking really good outside. Multicam video running well, too. Nice to have the data when needed.
I’m going to have to check into this. 8th grade girls who have played golf barely one year shouldn’t be driving it 250!!😳
Great swing mirroring with ! This picture really encapsulates how a golfer who really sticks with it can gain so much joy from the game. This guy is going low this year!
Some unpopular opinions below?…😬.
I would guess they roll the ball back for all USGA and R&A major events (even amateur, men only?) but I would also guess they have the blessing of the PGA and Masters. This would then force/incentivize all the tours to change, but they might be on board too, already.
The other piece is the ball manufactures. I don’t think it would be that problematic for them to make a core that “rebounds” 10% less.
Taking 10% off driver carry distance would take off near 30 yards for the pros. If this was pushed out for all USGA handicap’s, it would affect an average female golfer, who shoots 100 by taking their driver Carrie distance down 14 yards. I don’t think this will trickle down to the handicap level, but looking at the next 500 years of golf, I am a proponent of smaller courses taking up less land and less resources. Even if the golf ball was rolled back for a club golfer, he would still be hitting it further than 25 years ago and golf was popular then. Just play the correct tee’s!
