Solo Vino Wines
Solo Vino is an independent wine shop located in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood of St. Paul. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Our inventory is always changing to keep up with the fast moving world of wine. Today, our shop inventory consists of about 95% imports and 5% domestic producers. We like to be the voice of the smaller, artisan vineyards that often times goes unheard. In the last five years we have developed a passion for wines from the Iberian Peninsula, over 50% of our sales annually are wines from this region.
We’d like you all to meet the newest member of the team: MOGI!! 🐶
He doesn’t have an apron yet, but Mogi will be around the shop a few days a week so don’t forget to stop by and say hi.
And because we KNOW you’ll want to see his adorable puppy face, Mogi will be making more frequent appearances on our account. 🥹
Welcome to the team little guy!
Sean La Bonty of Lopian Wines will be pouring tonight starting at 5pm!! Here’s our lineup:
We start with Marotti Campi brut rose. Wine comes from Moro d’Alba on the Adriatic coast.
Miley Le Cloche is a delightful Côtes de Gascogne white from SW France. Famous (at this shop anyway) for its effortless solving of summer’s heat and humidity. Colombard and Ugni Blanc, two simple grapes more famous for cognac production.
Chateau Hellha Fermint Sec is from Hungry, using that country’s most famous grape, Fermint which is notoriously famous for its being made into an unctuous dessert style wine (Tokaji) but this is crisp, dry and fruity/spicy.
Parajes rose comes from southern Spain, made from a grape called Bobal. Dry and refreshing.
Finally Chateau Manissy Lirac is from the Rhône valley, Lirac being one of those villages elevated from Côtes du Rhône status to being allowed to put its name on the label. Grenache and Syrah. Dependable.
Don’t miss it! Tastings are free and go till 7:30pm.
