Today, the Saint Paul City Council voted unanimously to adopt zoning amendments that will improve development flexibility, support small businesses, and enhance neighborhood walkability along the East Grand Avenue corridor. The vote follows a multi-year study and an extensive community advisory process.
“Grand Avenue has always been a vibrant Saint Paul main street,” said Nicolle Goodman, Director of Planning and Economic Development. “These amendments will help ensure Grand Avenue continues to be a vibrant, walkable place for many years to come.”

Proper disposal of sharps minimizes risks of accidental needle sticks that can happen to anyone, anywhere.
Safe disposal options:
- Place items in a puncture proof container, tape it shut, label it “sharps,” and place it in a bag in the trash.
- Participate in sharps mail back programs.
- Pick up a sharps container from your pharmacy.
- Bring sharps to the Ramsey County Household Hazardous Waste site.

BRIDGE CLOSURE ALERT: Starting Monday, July 29 the Kellogg-3rd Street Bridge will close from Broadway Street to Mounds Boulevard. The vehicle traffic detour route is East 7th Street. Access to parking lots and businesses, including Union Depot, Farmers' Market, and CHS Field will be maintained.
Please be aware of other construction work and road closures downtown, including a new closure that's starts on Monday, July 29 on Minnesota Street from 6th Street to 9th Street.

Breaking ground on a new downtown park! The City of Saint Paul is starting construction on Pedro Park, located at 10th and Robert. The site was generously donated by the Pedro family, former owners of the land and the Pedro Luggage Center.
Pedro Park is designed to be an inclusive community gathering space and a catalyst for the growth of this corner of downtown. It's scheduled to be complete next year, in part thanks to funding from the sales tax increase. Get ready to enjoy Pedro Park in the near future 🌱

HREEO has released an RFP for local organizations to apply for a one-time grant totaling $20,000 in HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development) Partnership Funds. This initiative aims to engage Saint Paul renters from diverse backgrounds over a nine-month period to: (1) Hear about their Fair Housing rights and protections and (2) Learn how to access City resources related to Fair Housing.
