A (free!) opportunity for aspiring spaceflight researchers! Sign up today with AGSSR:
ASP members Starr Schroeder and Shawna Pandya have published a paper in Acta Astronautica, "Medical guidelines for suborbital commercial human spaceflight: a review". This critical literature review addresses concerns and mitigation of physiological requirements for the emerging opportunities to fly into space.

The repeated successful demonstrations of commercial suborbital spacecraft opens the doors for aspiring researchers to fly with their payloads into space. We at ASP want to help you make that possible. What are you studying? What experiment would you take with you? Tell us all about it!
We are proud to announce that Jamila Siamwala, PhD, has been selected as our new Chief Science Officer. She is an Associate Professor at Brown University, specializing in molecular pathology, physiology, and biotechnology. In her new role, she will oversee and coordinate ASP's multidisciplinary scientific research efforts.
ASP Payload Specialist Alina Kunitskaya passes back and forth a fluids experiment to NRC Flight Test Engineer Derek Gowenlock while experiencing simulated microgravity
Mission Success! The crew of today's parabolic microgravity flight has landed. The data collected will be used in numerous scientific investigations related to spaceflight.
Our very own Alina Kunitskaya, who was selected to serve as the payload specialist for the upcoming parabolic microgravity flight, practices the procedures for operating the Fluid Configuration Experiment
Our team is ready to fly! Alina Kunitskaya will operate Dr. Aaron Persad's Fluid Configuration Experiment during the simulated microgravity of a parabolic flight. Follow here for updates as the mission prepares for takeoff!
Our President and CEO Michael Gallagher is on site with Dr. Prashant Waghmare's team from the University of Alberta, where they are preparing a payload to be flown on a parabolic flight simulating the microgravity of space. An ASP researcher will be operating a fluids experiment on the upcoming flight.
This week: ASP returns to flight as one of our researchers is preparing to operate an experimental payload for the University of Alberta onboard the Canadian National Research Council's Falcon 20. Flying in parabolas, the test team will experience simulated microgravity replicating a space-like environment. Data from this experiment will help to better understand factors critical to human spaceflight.

Reminder for ASP members: We will be conducting the October Combined Meeting tomorrow at 1 pm EDT. Check your inbox for the Zoom link!

Op-ed | Advancing science through human-tended suborbital experiments on commercial vehicles - SpaceNews Scientists are betting on commercial reusable suborbital vehicles to advance the next frontier of science.
Space is for everyone- ASP recognizes all of the women working to enable human spaceflight and create opportunities for more women to join the ranks of space explorers. Our organization succeeds because of the diversity of our team, including these and many other women working as space professionals.
On 13 Oct 2020, Blue Origin launched the New Shepard suborbital mission NS-13- and onboard was a message from ASP! The New Shepard spacecraft carried our message to space, representing the steps necessary to achieve our future goals. For more information, see https://www.clubforfuture.org/
Dr. Alan Stern from the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has been selected by NASA Flight Opportunities program to fly on Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo as a suborbital mission specialist!
Will you be watching? Tomorrow Blue Origin will attempt the 13th launch of the New Shepard rocket with a dozen science payloads on a suborbital trajectory. Today at ISSR&D Conference, NASA presented updates regarding the commercial utilization of ISS, including proposals for private astronauts to conduct research aboard the space station. Opportunities now exist for non-NASA science missions in orbit.
ASP is working to enable researchers like you to fly your experiments to space - Yesterday, Virgin Galactic revealed the cabin interior of their suborbital SpaceShip Two vehicle, to include the configuration of payload rack assemblies. This is where we hope to see you and your experiments soon.
