Promoting wellness and clinicial development for social workers, therapists, and counselors #supervisionsundays | Serving Tampa Bay
Dr. Brittany and our interns had the opportunity to engage with young women involved in the Pinellas County Girls Court under the guidance of Honorable Judge Patrice Moore this week. The discussion focused on the concept of boundaries, aiming to educate the participants on recognizing, defining, and asserting healthy boundaries. It is our hope that the young women feel empowered with the understanding that establishing boundaries is a valuable skill that can be developed at any stage of life.
A special thank you to Judge Moore who was inspiring to watch as she mentors these young women. We admire her dedication to the community.
Our sincerest thanks to all who participated in the NAMI Pinellas County, FL Walk last month. The dedication of our community of wellness advocates in fostering safe environments for individuals coping with mental health and substance use disorders is truly inspiring.
Thanks to CCity of Pinellas Park, FLfor featuring NNAMI Pinellas (National Alliance on Mental Illness)for their Non-profit Spotlight during Mental Health Awareness Month this year.

Sometimes, you don't know where to start when your therapist suggest you start journaling.
Start by describing the situation (i.e. who, what, when, where).
Then ask yourself if there may be part of you that is experiencing rejection, invalidation, loneness, overlooked, unloved, minimized, or excluded.
End by affirming yourself and offering a commitment to respond to your own emotional needs for the day.
Normalize Men Prioritizing their mental health too
We're excited to provide support to problem-solving courts in our area.
Thank you ✨

May 20th is Emancipation Day in Florida.
Did you know slaves in Florida were emancipated 11 days after the end of the Civil War, and two years after the Proclamation was issued by President Lincoln?
Many African Americans in the United States have been impacted by structural racism since slavery ended and continue to experience trauma, health disparities, and economic disadvantages.
Addressing systemic racism requires holistic restoration.
Last week, we had the privilege of participating in the 3rd Annual OC Emporium hosted by The Orenda Collective .
The OC Emporium is making significant community impact and their work is commendable. The OC Emporium serves as a hub for inclusivity and collaboration. The event brought together executives from The Rays, Suncoast Credit Union and many more with businesses representing minorities, women, veterans, and the LGBTQ+ community. This event plays a pivotal role in cultivating a diverse and fair business environment within the Tampa Bay community.
It is worth highlighting that many businesses featured at this event have successfully secured corporate contracts. For more information about the Orenda Foundation, please visit their website.

It started with a dedication to helping others and investing in the community
Many young people find themselves drawn to a career in social work, a helping profession, as a result of life experience or due to a natural tendency towards caring for others and their community. It is my vision that those committed to the profession of Social Work will be fully credentialed and highly skilled clinicians. By investing in ourselves as clinicians, we then enhance the overall services provided to those who choose us when they are in need. For those seeking services, it is my vision that you receive the care you deserve, non-judgmentally, from a well-trained professional. Additionally, seeing a therapist should not carry a stigma when therapy is, in actuality, a necessary part of self-care. By investing in ourselves, we are investing in our community.
