Howdy Folks! Just checking in with some relevant updates - it's been a big year so far!
Here are the highlights: We moved, Elite is under new ownership and we are bringing on an LMT
With the extra room, in the office suite just next door (take 5 steps to the left of our old door) we have space to bring in new faces:
Introducing our newest bodyworker : Andrew Jemmott, LMT - he will be coming on at the end of the month. Andrew is an expert in pain relief modalities including Neuromuscular Therapy and Myofascial Release, and specializes in Medicupping which is a great compliment to the clinic as it assists in the breakdown of scar tissue, it is also great for sports recovery and pre and post surgical procedures. This targeted cupping uses controlled shearing force to drain stagnant and pooling excess lymph fluid, and drastically improves circulation. The immediate results are dramatic and can last for weeks. More detailed information regarding pricing and hours to follow. Welcome aboard Andrew!
Thanks very much for your business, it's been an honor to be a part of your healing journey. If you would like to set up an appointment call and leave a voicemail or shoot a text to the clinic line at (727) 200 - 1319 .

LET’S TALK ABOUT SCIATIC !
"What a pain in the butt!"
Or rather, in the rear near the hip and going down the leg.
As you can see, the Sciatic Nerve tunnels down the core of the leg, passing a handful of structures like the Glutes, Hamstring, and Adductor.
Nerves are built-in with about 10% slack in order to be able to floss and glide through the muscles in movement, but if the nerve is stuck onto another structure, the body will engage in protective tension, shutting down a compromising motion and putting you into non-optimal postures. Unaddressed, over time, this will lead to real dysfunction.
Our targeted therapy helps to restore appropriate range through the lumbo sacral plexus and hip to get you out of pain by shearing off this soft tissue adhesion in a systematic way.
If this sounds like you, give us a call. We are always here to help!
LETS TALK ABOUT FUNCTION !
Whats your personal baseline? Its all about load vs capacity. Want to be able to do more? Want to adapt to a higher level of function with hardly any effort?
We just need to dial in some key factors.. Stimulus, Recovery, Adaptation.
We want to hit the sweet spot on these bell curves. Too much or too little in EITHER stimulus or recovery means we miss out on effortless gains in function.
If you are working harder (or having too much fun) the recovery piece needs to match that.
Likewise, if there hasnt been as much going on, less is needed.
LETS TALK ABOUT UNLAYERING !
Because you cannot effectively work deep to a tight structure we go top to bottom, superficial to deep - in a precise, methodical, and orderly way.
Using the shoulder, you can see the GH capsule is highlighted as an example. This structure lives under many layers of Muscle, with Nerves passing through every which way. Restriction is correlated to a structure. Unless you have an expert take a thorough look at the person's Range of Motion, you'll be guessing as to which layer is the problem. Point and rub simply does not work longterm.
When we know what the cause actually is, we can unlayer to that structure quickly because have a gameplan; a prioritized list of structures to unburden. As tissue becomes healthier, and more flexible we then add in strength to targeted areas ultimately bringing balance back to the body.
Our mission is to treat soft tissue in the safest most conservative way, quickly getting to the cause instead of the effect, bringing pain down and range of motion back.
If you're ready to get some answers, we're ready to help! Give us a call
Lets Talk About Your Neck!
Scalenes and these Nerve Roots get really beat up when they're overburdened because its such a delicate area. Between flexion extension rotation tilting rolling -- these movements that should be smooth and unlabored become limited and painful when the body is protecting you from moving the wrong way.
We see that alot of tight muscles through the shoulders and upper back are able to relax after bringing the neck into a more stable place. It's 'normal' to be guarded when there is dysfunction, but tracking your pain to the source so that you're not just chasing symptoms is the way to make lasting progressive change. (Which is what we're all about!)
We go after cause. Looking at which structure is indicated from limited range is the way to prioritize those sites and build a plan tailored to individual needs instead of a cookie cutter process that may or may not work for you.
Everything we do here is functional based.
If youre ready to get to the bottom of your pain, give us a call. We are always here to help!
LETS TALK ABOUT PELVIS TILT!
What we want to talk about today is how the QL or Quadratus Lumborum (which lives deep to all your lumbar errectors) impacts the Psoas and visa versa. The Psoas and QL border one another DEEP in your core, and when they are velcro'd together it will be a real challenge to maintain proper pelvis tilt, which has so much to do with your total posture profile.
If you sit at a desk with your bum tucked under, or sit at the edge of your chair, these structures are likely on tap at all times trying to keep your back safe and supported. Over time, overwork / over use is what creates soft tissue adhesion.
We use *Depth - Tension - Motion* to remove this scar tissue, and restore healthy movement so you can get stronger and more flexible. Symptoms track with function ; if we can get you moving better we can get you feeling better!
If this sounds like you, give us a call. We are always here to help !
LETS TALK ABOUT THE PEC MINOR !
The smaller nerve that plugs into the pec comes from your Brachial Plexus, a major Nerve highway down the core of your arm. If this smaller branch is stuck down at the pec, and you attempt to bring the arm out and back in a fly motion, the body will shut it down in order to keep you from overstretching at any part of the nerve. The pattern of this restriction (how it looks as well as feels) shows us where and how to treat.
A healthy pec is one that has full range of motion with no pain. We get you there by shearing off scar tissue from your muscles with Depth Tension and Motion.
We commonly hear people with pec restriction talk about how it felt "rolled forward" or "collapsed" before treatment. If this sounds like you, or you spend the day with your arms up in front of you working - please do give us a call. We are always here to help !
LETS TALK ABOUT THE ISCHIUM!
Also known as "the sit bone", this area is premium real estate. The Hamstring attaches here at multiple points, and when they are tight and it pulls everything in this area. Additionally, you can see the sciatic nerve follows this pathway and can trigger "sciatic-like symptoms" when in fact it is typically a muscular problem.
We specialize in being able to differentiate between a true sciatic problem and a soft tissue problem affecting the sciatic nerve.
Shooting pains through the hip?
Numbness and tingling down the leg?
Localized stiffness with reduced range of motion?
If any of these sound familiar we can help you determine the root cause of your pain.
LET'S TALK ABOUT SLOUCHING!
Are you constantly pulling your shoulders back, or noticing yourself leaning towards the computer screen?!
Today we want to dive into the Spinal Erector Group, getting these muscles healthy and moving is so important since they are a key player in optimizing posture. This chain is broken down into segments, as it runs up and down the back connecting spine and ribs for segmental flexion.
Does your back ever feel 'ropey' ? This happens because the Erectors become overburdened by our constant nature to move forward... this causes the anterior muscles to shorten while stretching and weakening the ones on the back; increasing the build-up of Soft-Tissue Adhesion.
Our 3 step method is effective at shearing off this adhesion for good, reducing paind and allowing free movement to help the muscles of the back work more efficiently.
If this sounds like you, give us a call. We are always here to help !!
Let's have a conversation about Symptom Chasing, shall we ?
All too often, we see people at the end of the line - after having tried dozens of gimmicks that seem promising at the start but inevitably let them down. There is a window for conservative treatment to work, and the majority of these products have a temporary effect - interrupting the pain cycle but not fixing anything. It's simply unwise to delay appropriate treatment in favor of the quick fix.
Regarding wrist issues, the first thing people jump to is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. As you can see, there are quite a few other soft tissue challenges that can occur in this area, and the majority of these can be helped, relieved, or fixed with the targeted work we do here at Elite. By helping the area move better, unsticking structures from one another, managing inflammation and finally balancing strength - it's a whole new hand.
We have helped tons of clients avoid or recover from unnecessary surgery! If this sounds like you, please reach out. We're always here to help !!!
The subscapularis muscle is a large triangular shaped muscle that originates from the subscapular fossa. The term "subscapularis" means under (sub) the scapula (wingbone).
It is part of the four rotator cuff muscles, the other three are the supraspinatus, infraspinatus and teres minor muscles. The subscapularis is the largest and strongest muscle of the rotator cuff. As part of the rotator cuff, Subscapularis plays an important role in stabilisation of the shoulder. An overworked subscapularis muscle may make you feel like you are not able to lift your arm. It may be even less you to believe you have “frozen shoulder” when what you really have is scar tissue adhesions preventing this muscle from doing its job. We are experts at finding and fixing these adhesions so that you can you get back to the activities you enjoy. Don’t wait! Reach out to see how our specialists can help you today!

𝗪𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞: Those people that developed anatomy did a great job in helping us figure out where this muscle is, the translation is literally, " lesser posterior straight muscle of the head." Basically it is the deepest of the deep neck muscles and goes from the top bone in the neck straight up to the skull.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞: It helps you extend your head, like looking up at the ceiling. It also helps turn your head from side to side. Unfortunately this muscle is a HUGE contributor to headaches and neck pain. This happens because there are nerves and blood vessels around the muscle that end up getting stuck or glued together with scar tissue. That scar tissue forms from bad postures, looking down at your phone, accidents and just a sedentary lifestyle.
𝐈𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝗪𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐭:
Headaches and Migraines
Stiff Neck
Trouble Turning Your Head
If you are having neck pain, stiffness and tightness, as well as difficulty turning your head this muscle could be a contributing factor to all your pain. Another sign that this muscle is a problem is ongoing tension headaches, that eventually turn into migraines. When muscles get overused and beat up they develop scar tissue, which makes the muscles weaker and less flexible, and also can cause the blood vessels and nerves to get stuck as well, causing more problems!
The best part is scar tissue is COMPLETELY Reversible with expert evaluation and treatment. The best practitioners are trained in and you can find a link in our profiles to get access to one and get on the path of functioning and feeling better, for good!

Posterior Shoulder Capsule.
This capsule is one of the main mechanisms in shoulder motion and stability, but with a lot of overuse and bad postures, it gets really stretched out. When this happens it can’t get enough blood and oxygen, leading the body to lay down scar tissue to help protect the area. The scar tissue acts like glue and makes the capsule less flexible and stiff. When this happens the shoulder doesn’t move how it is designed to, which in turn puts more wear and tear on the joints, cartilage, and tendons.
Common shoulder injuries associated with a capsule problem:
Shoulder Impingement
Shoulder Bursitis
Rotator Cuff Tears
Popping and Clicking Shoulder
Frozen Shoulder
A lot of shoulder dysfunction begins in the capsule and by the time you get enough pain to notice it the damage has already been done in other areas.
The key is to get properly assessed for scar tissue in the shoulder, especially in the capsule, because scar tissue in these structures is completely reversible with expert diagnosis and treatment. The best practitioners in the world are trained in and you can request a consult with one of them by following the links in our profile.
