Burning ‘the midnight oil’ on this painting for my next exhibition in Verona
TWENTY-FIVE DAYS UNTIL MY EXHIBITION
If you think everything is always ready and organized months in advance...
Well, that’s not always the case. In fact, some things get decided last minute, whether we like it or not.
So, why did I choose to have an exhibition in Verona? (I know, what was I thinking? Just kidding.)
To answer that question, I should probably tell you a bit more about the paintings that will be showcased at the Gran Guardia.
Among the various collections, the most significant one I’ll be presenting is called Romeo and Juliet: The Metamorphosis.
In 2021, I was invited to Miami to prepare an exhibition that was incredibly important to me.
A magical place, where it felt like I was dreaming!
Since I’m from Verona, I decided to focus on my hometown.
I created a collection aimed at introducing myself to the American market with something familiar, yet at the same time, building something new and unique.
The story of Romeo and Juliet is, honestly, a bit of a cliché for us Veronese. But maybe, just maybe, it could work.
So, I decided to reimagine the story as if Romeo and Juliet were living today.
As if their struggle wasn’t so much against their families, but against themselves and their own egos.
What emerged was an emotional exploration of the two lovers, caught within the stereotypes and barriers that modern society imposes on young people—and on all of us.
It was an instant hit! The collection traveled across America and was even seen by British royalty (now you see why, given that Shakespeare was English).
The cornerstone of this collection is, of course, Verona.
The city where the Bard set his tragedy, where I was born and raised, and like Romeo, I had to undergo my own journey of growth and transformation—a necessary path to adulthood and the intellectual maturity required to build and sustain any relationship.
So, now you know a bit more about the exhibition. I hope I’ve piqued your interest. I look forward to seeing you at the opening on September 25, 2024, at the Gran Guardia Palace, where Romeo and Juliet: The Metamorphosis will be on display.
Details of this classic portrait painting, made with oil on canvas.
Working on this portrait. This is just the first step; the idea was to block in the basic colors, but I might have gone a bit too detailed. 🤭
MEETING THE KING’S BROTHER FOR TEA
I had the pleasure of meeting Prince Edward thanks to my new solo exhibition at Windsor Castle.
We chatted together, drank tea, and discussed the collection “Romeo and Juliet: The Metamorphosis.”
It was an incredible event that I still can’t believe I participated in.
Another one of my paintings that I really like.
It’s a watercolor, and for those familiar with the technique, it’s one of the most challenging.
Created on paper with gold leaf accents, it’s an essential piece of the Radiance collection.
What do you think?
Today, as we all watch the Olympic Games, I want to give a shoutout to Jamie Baulch, a world-class athlete and Olympic medalist, undoubtedly one of Great Britain’s greatest 400m sprinters.
But best of all, he’s a great human being, dedicated, along with his wife, to humanitarian causes.
More on this subject soon on this platform.
“There is no world without Verona walls, But purgatory, torture, hell itself. Hence banished is banish’d from the world, And world’s exile is death.”
— Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
Fortunately we are within the walls. 😂
Look who I was introduced to!
, the amazing actress from Dharma & Greg and fear the walking dead.
I remember watching her for years on TV in Italy. 🥰💐
The question is,
will she ask for a portrait one day?
Will see, will see 😁😀👌
Is there a cure for loneliness? How did we end up so lonely despite our ability to be online and communicate so easily?
The younger generations seem to be the loneliest.
What has changed from the powerful protest of the Beat Generation to today’s homogenized world?
This is the theme of my collection, “Romeo and Juliet: The Metamorphosis”—an exploration of relationships and their current state among young people.
9 of my best paintings.

Imagine receiving the artwork you purchased on the other side of the world.
Well yes. That’s what happened.
We traveled from Los Angeles to Manila, Philippines to deliver some artwork to a special person.
In this case our art collector, very happily treated us to a wonderful holiday in a five star resort in a paradise: on Boracay beach.
It’s the beginning of a journey and a great friendship 💐🌹
Big shout out to my newest top fans! 💎

Last week, I had the honor of showcasing my collection, “Romeo and Juliet: The Metamorphosis,” at Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom.
During the day, the castle is packed with people, but in the evening, it empties out, allowing the staff to complete routine maintenance tasks.
Here are some photos of Stacy and me enjoying the castle all to ourselves!
It does not get better than this.
In front of Windsor Castle with my Romeo and Juliet core piece.

Love Redefined: an Artist's modern take on Romeo and Juliet’s Story
I reimagined the story of Romeo and Juliet, presenting a drastic shift in perspective that may be regarded as unique.
But what makes this reinterpretation so fascinating? Why has it attracted the media's interest and become a media phenomenon?
Why would a story from almost 500 years ago still intrigue people today?

From April 23 to 29, 2023, my artwork titled ‘Mona Lisa’s Daughter’ was projected on two large screens in Times Square, including a 100-foot-long one, marking one of the most significant occasions in my career thus far.
This photo is hilarious, I swear!😆
The one behind me is Alicia Keys, trying to get onto the stage.
And me?
I’m holding Tina’s phone, Beyoncé’s mom, who’s helping Alicia get up (on the left).
Tina asked me to take some pictures, so she handed me her phone 😅.
Get it? I’m holding Beyoncé’s number in my hands! 😱
Stacy is taking this photo and telling me to get on stage and squeeze between her friends .
The paparazzi are wondering who I am. I must be someone related to them.
I feel very awkward in this moment 😆😆😆
I absolutely have no proof of what I’m saying, besides this photo.

Art sucks (if you can't enjoy it)
Navigating the art world can be tough.
Have you ever attended an exhibit and felt:
excluded,
bored,
uncomfortable,
empty,
disinterested,
unchallenged,
unchanged,
uninspired,
even cheated?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might be starting to realize something.
How can art enrich your life?
It might seem like a simple question, but it's also the most direct. And direct questions like these should not be overlooked.
I hate to say it, but it all starts with you.
Art can only enrich your life if you are actively trying to enhance your human experience.
Are you giving enough space to art in your life?
Are you seeking beauty?
Are you attending concerts, theatrical performances, or reading books?
Nothing can communicate with you, with your soul, if you don't leave a door open.
How can I talk to you about aesthetics if you are not willing to seek out beauty?
But the good news is, if you're reading this, you probably are. This is the most important premise: you must be in search of beauty.
You want to be inspired. You're giving art a chance to touch your heart.
Art can only illuminate you if you leave a crack open.
Read a book, listen to some music, go to an exhibition. Let yourself be inspired.
We artists will take it from there.
As you begin to open up to art, it will become increasingly easier to recognize what is intellectually brilliant and what is merely superficial.
When you decide to let yourself be inspired, you’ll discover (and I’m sure it has already happened to you) that art has the power to immensely enrich your life.
And the next time you go to an exhibit, you’ll be like a child on Christmas Day!
Art is for you. The best thing you can do is educate yourself about beauty.
