What a wild 9 months it’s been in the Willamette Valley!
We started with the Santiam Canyon Fires last September (image 1) and followed that up with the Great Oregon Ice Storm of 2021 (not sure what the media named it but I like this one, we’ll let the history books decide: image 2). As if that wasn’t enough here we are living in temperatures hotter than an AZ summer day (literally: image 3, don’t get me wrong I love me some AZ dry heat but damn you don’t expect that in the PNW).
BUT, good news!!! Oregon is set to open back up in two days! Small victories!
Stay safe out there.
Any morning where you can see Mount Hood from your window is a good morning.
Happy Friday!
Added 60% more shelving space in our pantry this weekend. It’s crazy what some deeper shelves and better spacing will do for you! (Swipe for after image)
Who actually likes those wire shelves anyway? No one … that’s the only answer.
10/10 one of my favorite places, Sedona. I’m not exactly into crystals or vortex’s but those RED ROCKS! When we lived in Phoenix this was our favorite place to escape and recharge.
Where do you go for an escape from the day to day?!

DM me for more info or if you want one before these are gone! (Also currently taking custom requests!)
How do you recharge?!
Well this is Oregon... rain or shine there’s always wine! Or beer... but how can you beat these vineyard views?!
Sunnies:
Who doesn’t love a throwback?! One of the first hats I ever made! I’ve always loved Idaho (Boise State Alum, Go Broncos!) and the Sawtooths are always breathtaking.
Love it when I see my hats out and about! The logo hat making its first appearance yesterday!
Been slacking on the production front lately, new dad problems I suppose. Anyway, some new and some old designs coming atcha!
Dm me or check out the website for available designs or something custom!
What makes you smile?!
For me getting outside and trying new things always seems to do the trick! This weekend I had the opportunity to head out to eastern Oregon and do my first ever pheasant hunt! There’s just something super cool about knowing where your food comes from and catching it yourself. It’s a fun full circle experience! Not to mention we could not have had better weather!
What have you done lately that’s made you smile?

New post (link in bio for the Roam Blog)!!!
Check it out and let me know what you think!
Finally figured out how to paint my logo! (Handwriting can use some work but one problem at a time!)
This design will be available on my shop soon!
LIVE! Quick 3 minute read. An intro of what this will be about (which will probably change and morph throughout the process) but you’ll get an idea of what I’m about.

Comment below on topics you’d be interested in reading about (steer clear of politics I think everyone is tired of that topic at this point).
Read the blog post and loved and/or hated it, leave a comment on the post. Think it’s dope? Share it on the socials.
IT’S HAPPENING! Roam goes live tomorrow at 09:00 am (link in bio).
It’s a quick 2-3 minute read on whether future posts are going to waste your time or not.
Find infrequent profanity amusing? Like laughing at others mistakes and feeling superior to someone? Want to know you’re not the only one that doesn’t know what they’re doing? Want something unique from an average dude to read? This is it.
Check it out tomorrow morning with your coffee. (link in bio).
Read something you like? Leave a comment, heck maybe even share it! Read something you don’t like? Do the same!
Fair warning, there is profanity and I may not always be the most PC. I will do my best but who can keep up with all of it these days? Know that nothing is intended to be personal or offensive.
Roam with me!
Launching 2/20/21 at 9:00!!!! I’ve been working on this for quite a while now and I’m excited to announce my new blog is coming Saturday!
As time continues it’s tireless march forward I’ve realized that the plan I had mapped out for my life was crap. Reality has been SO much better than the plan. As soon as I realized we all travel through life without a fixed destination and the majority of daily events are out of my control the happier I’ve been. Continuing to learn, grow, and embracing change is the key to being ready for whatever life throws at you. All we can do is roll with it.
I’ll be sharing my experiences and opinions. How I’ve gone from following “the right path”, to pursuing what makes me happy. Think I’m wrong? Cool leave a comment, I love hearing other perspectives that don’t match my own. Looking for something to relate to? Maybe this can help fill that gap.
Regardless of why you’re here, I am stoked you’re here to Roam with me.
So this ice storm may have left us without power for the last 12 hrs (so far, anticipated another 12 before it’s fixed) BUT I can honestly say I’ve never seen stuff like this in person before. Kind of neat. Total 1/4”-1/2” of ice build up on everything.
ONLY 6 LEFT! First run of NWR t-shirts just landed! Screen printed on the super comfy NextLevel 60/40 blend t-shirt. Printing done by and they look awesome!
Available now on my shop (link in bio)
Who loves reclaimed wood?! 🙋🏼♂️
DM me if you’re interested in a slab or milled chunks. (Only air dried)
This cherry burl was going to be cut up and ground at one of my construction sites. I’m glad I decided the save it, the figuring on these slabs is awesome!
Want to show you care with something they won’t see coming? Order before 2/6/21 to give your gift the best chance at arriving before the holiday (I can’t control UPS, USPS, or FedEx sorry).
What’s your happy place?!
Living in Oregon it’s that SAD time of year when the rain never seems to end. I find my happy place in my garage making things out of scrap wood others tossed aside. It’s easy to get lost in the building processes. What seems like an hour often times is really 4-5. This keeps me sane, especially this time of year.
What’s your escape?!
Hat: NW Ridge // Sunnies: Proof
Trying something new today. Still not 100% happy with the design but still a fun time lapse.
Time to keep tinkering. What do you think needs to be done to make this one work? Tell me below!
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Order your one of a kind wearable art by 2/5/21 to have the best opportunity for it to arrive before the holiday!
Clearly they are much more excited about the snow than I am.
Crazy to see how many iterations I have gone through with my logo. From Reclamation Ridge to NW Ridge. From realizing even I have a hard time remembering how to spell “Reclamation” and that my domain wasn’t easy to remember to transitioning to what is now NW Ridge. It’s fun to review the path you’ve taken to get where you are.
The more I tinker the more I realize I enjoy this graphic design thing (even though I’m not good at it .... yet).
I am sure there will be more changes as this continues.
AWAKENING: In my late 20’s I realized what I thought I wanted to be wasn’t right for me. Apparently the life goal of suits, scotch, and a corner office isn’t all its cracked up to be! I’m a maker. I build things (both in my day job in construction and with my spare time).
The image below is my first project, this is what made everything click. I went from chasing money to chasing what made me happy and fulfilled. This first project is ultimately what lead to me starting my career over and cutting my income by 60%. This epiphany is what made me change from just showing up for a pay-check to loving what I do.
I can not say enough about pursuing something that interests you. For me it’s making things and having something tangible to show for my work.
What was your awakening? What changes have you made to be more fulfilled in your day to day? (Comment below, I’d love to hear your stories!)
Love seeing my hats out in the wild! Thanks for the awesome picture!
This is a really old project but I’m dabbling with some video stuff. It’s terrible but gives you an idea of what it was before and after. Did this about 3 years ago and we still use this entry table to this day! Goes to show that even scraps can make excellent accents in your home!
What’s something others thought was useless that you made into something awesome?! comment below!
Comfort Zone: One thing I’ve always loved is getting out of it. For the past 12 years I’ve done this by traveling all over the place. 2020 obviously changed that this last year. So I was forced to find another way out of my comfort zone.
I’ve never been known as creative, original, or artistic. The words are typically annoyingly energetic, athletic, and even do**he (might as well steer into it at this point haha). Starting was a HUGE step out of my comfort zone.
Getting out of your comfort zone in one way or another is great! It forces me to continue to learn and adapt to new surroundings or expectations.
How did you get out of your comfort zone this last year?!
What’s your favorite place? One of my favorite places on earth is ! For lack of better words this place is magical. The red rocks, the hiking, the wine, and the history are all so inspiring.
SWAG! NWR t-shirt now available for pre-order in my shop! This is my first dabbling with designing graphics, got to say, not mad at it.
With these being ordered in small batches lead times will likely be longer than ideal so I’m offering a 15% off coupon for a future purchase of a hand painted hat with every NWR t-shirt sold! (That’s a sweet ish deal right?!)
Offering in Fatigue Green and White in Men’s and Women’s sizes S-XL for now.
