FULL-TIME POLICE/FIRE/EMS 911 DISPATCHER

The Police/Fire/EMS 911 position is a full-time position with accrued vacation, sick leave, personal time and benefits available. Starting salary $37,334, and after one-year increases to $44,514. There is a 26-mile residency requirement. Work schedule is 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off.

Job Duties include: Answering incoming emergency calls for service and obtaining required information for a safe, efficient emergency response. Dispatches law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical service personnel in adherence with established policies and procedures. Enters all information regarding the incident into the Computer Aided Dispatch System.

The successful applicant shall possess proficient computer skills, the ability to communicate well, work under stressful situations, and the ability to multi-task several duties at once. A detailed job description is available at www.cityofcentralia.org.

Applications may be picked up at the Police Department Dispatch window. All applications must be submitted to the Centralia Police Department before Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

This is a standard test that occurs at least once every three years. No action is needed.
