Since 2008, our partnership with Universitas Pelita Harapan has been vital to our mission. The impact generated by this collaboration is difficult to quantify as thousands of teachers have been trained and equipped to provide quality education to educationally underserved populations all across Southeast Asia, carrying with them the truth of the Gospel. An update from our student ministry team in Thailand: Led by Dr. Jordan Newton and Liz Dodd, students Matt Van Klaveren, Ethan Webber, Isaac Immel, and Kristi Hirte have been active serving in Thailand. The team has been working with Grace Boarding House assisting with VBS, evening Bible studies, and sporting events, and also partnering with Mae Sot Evangelical Church to help lead bible studies and engage in community outreach. Please consider our team in your prayers! We are so proud of them for making a difference in the world for Jesus Christ!

Wednesday, May 1, Corban University celebrated a historic occasion with the official inauguration of its 11th president, Dr. John Mark Yeats.

“Dr. Yeats’ inauguration is truly a celebration of God’s provision for Corban University,” said Corban University Board Chair, Rod Hoff. “Dr. Yeats has quickly engaged with the Corban community, building strong relationships on campus and with its constituents across the country. His work to build a compelling strategic plan for the University is already creating momentum, and we are excited about Corban’s future under his leadership.”

At this year's Refresher Conference, the School of Ministry invited pastors from all over the community and across the Northwest to come to campus, interact, worship, and be ministered to. The event saw its attendance double from last year and featured worship led by Corban students, a keynote address by Corban President, Dr. John Mark Yeats, and 14 workshops led by Corban faculty and trustees covering ministry topics like pastor burnout, ministry counseling, biblical interpretation, mental health, and culture and gender. This year we were also privileged to partner with Baptist Network Northwest, reaching even more pastors and providing them a vital opportunity for rest and encouragement.

This week we were honored to host this year’s class of Golden Grads, the class of 1974! It’s always a joy to have alumni back on campus and to hear them swap stories of fond memories, dorm shenanigans, and years of impact shared on this campus.
