We raise mini cows! Our registered miniature zebu cattle range from 30 to 40 inches tall, and they're all colorful!
We specialize in providing compact, colorful cattle for the pet owners, hobby farmers, and full blown breeders!
Weve been busy here lately, we forgot to post about another Royal Flush calf!
We sent Glory to Maryland, incubating Royal Flushes calf, and she had a little Heifer at the end of June. JLF Sally! I anticipate this calf's brown coat will turn grey, possibly even black like her mother!
We typically post about our mature herd bull, Woodys Royal Flush. However, we have a junior herd bull who's a year old today!
Happy Birthday to Danis High Roller! This young bull comes from Dani's Zebu-Famous DAB Marvin line. We've got high hopes for this little fella, and can't wait for his first calves, possibly in 2025!
"Dude, give me my treat already!!"🙄🤣
Today's the day our boy, our pride and joy, officially becomes a man(metaphorically). Woodys Royal Flush is 3! IMZA dictates that at 3 years old Miniature Zebu are considered fully mature. We plan to fill his feed trough with some good grain and let him enjoy being back with his ladies! This guy is the foundation upon which we plan to build our herd and pedigree, and we are thrilled he's ours. Happy Birthday buddy!
Some updated pics of our 2023 calves! All these calves have found new homes, and we are thankful for their new homes willingness to update us with pics!
Well, Royal Flush had his first of three(hopefully) 2024 calves hit the ground a couple days ago. A little bull calf. His mother left us for GA back in November, with the calf in the oven incubating. Hes a cute little fella!
It's always an adventure at Jay-Lay Farm. Yesterday, our son discovered a TINY Yellow Bellied Slider under one of our downspouts, and anyone who knows our son, knows he's an animal lover so of course he's named it (Super Turtle) and it's now his "pet." Needless to say, my first task when I get home from work is to build it a home. This is the result. Hes got food, shelter and water. This will serve as a temporary home for the little turtle until its grown enough to be released into the pond down the road!
The wife said "I took a good one, post it!"
So, here ya go. HLF Ahsoka
She is a product of TNT(Culpepper)×Starlands. We are excited for her and Royal Flushes future offspring!
Our part of Dennis Beranek's herd dispersal arrived last night after dark. We got out there with them this afternoon, and they are impressive! The calf is beautifully marked, and tiny! DAB Roxie, DAB Cocoa and DAB Cassiopeia
Layla must give off a special aura that attracts these cows.
The grey cow in front of her doesn't like humans at all. She runs far away if humans are around, except for Layla. She doesn't come around for us to touch her, she won't take treats from us, but she was calm with Layla. It warms our hearts to see her show interest in the cows, and for her to want to "go talk to the cows."❤️
Well, we took another step forward today with our farm. Had a 265ft fence ran to separate the property, allowing us to run two separate herds! Working on getting the ladies properly sorted off now, and then the bulls will get to go back with their ladies soon!
Cow Lick and the ladies. Her brown will turn a deep black over the next few months. It's always a cool thing to watch the change happen gradually!

We are excited to have closed a deal on some Legacy cows from one of the original breeders in Zebu! Mr. Beranek has agreed to sell us a trio from his decades-old breeding program.
We look forward to welcoming DAB Cocoa, her calf DAB Cassiopeia(Cassie for short), and DAB Roxie to our farm in the coming weeks, as they have a ride from Illinois to NC scheduled for a week from now.
Royalty, all 37 inches of it.
Yalls bulls fight?
Ours are BFFs🤝🫶🤣
Well, we had an adventure today!
We, like many breeders, separate our males from the females during certain times of the year(Feb-May) to avoid having winter calves.
We've recently acquired a bull calf, Confetti(roughly 9 months old), and we left him out with all the ladies because we felt he was too young to try and breed, and we were leery of putting him in with our mature bull. We have a new fence being built mid April, to separate the herd into two, and Confetti would go in with his younger ladies only. Today, we come home from breakfast, and discover that one of our 2022 Heifers has came into heat for the first time, and Confetti was ALL OVER HER!😳🙄. Not sure if he was successful or not, but it wasn't for lack of trying.
This forced us to put the bulls together. We were worried how they would react, and as you can tell by the pictures, they pretty much became best friends. What were we worried about!?🤦♂️🤣🤣
A little size comparison for yall, as it relates to mini zebu.
Hay Day 🐮
Can you tell who my wife's favorite is?
Minnie girl posing for the camera!
We have 3 cows that will be looking for new addresses soon. All have been with our bull Royal Flush. PM for info!
Pic of baby Royal Flush for attention❤️
SPOILED🙄
Purchased a new hay cradle, to see if the cows would do better with a round bale than with square.
They seem to like having free-choice hay all day!
Peep the chonky boy on the far left👀🤣
🐄🐮💕
Next, our main man Royal Flush had a busy winter. He successfully paired with all 5 of the females he was exposed to for 2023 calving, and they delivered 5 spectacularly marked, healthy calves. 3 Bull calves and 2 Heifer calves. The red and white Heifer will be staying here with us. We couldn't be happier with the job our bull has done.
I haven't updated this in a while, but we've had a lot of things happening around the farm. You may or may not know, that here on the farm we raise Corgi as well.
We have Corgi puppies! 7 weeks old this coming weekend. They've been wormed twice and will have their first shots. Mom and Dad pictured, and on site.
