Wedding season is officially upon us and I love it!

Im sad to say a dear friend and client Jennifer has passed away. I had the honor of being her hairstylist for the last several years, and also helped her buy her “retirement condo” last summer. My heart hurts that she never got to live in it as they were remodeling it first. She and her husband had started their family in those same condo’s and were so excited to retire there. It was a love story that came full circle.
Jennifer had so much personality and pep! She loved to travel the world and I loved to hear all about her adventures whenever I did her hair.
She was kind and giving, and loved helping others. The world is less without her.

Hi there! I have some big changes coming up I wanted to make you all aware of! Due to some recent management changes at Liv Salon, I will be moving locations. I have a studio lined up in Murray opening in June, that is only 2 miles from Liv. However, in the next few weeks I will be at a temporary space in Sandy until that new location is finished being built. Both locations are called Vara Salons. The address is 8045 S 700 E, Sandy UT 84070.
I want to thank you all in advance for your patience with me during this transition. I know two moves in a short amount of time is not ideal. However, it is important to me that I have a safe, positive, and happy, comfortable environment for my clients to come to and the current salon space no longer fits those requirements. My last day taking clients at Liv salon will be April 13th. And I will be back up and running by the 15th at the Sandy Location. If you already have appointments booked with me we will keep them scheduled and I will reach out individually to make sure you know where to come and how to get there! Again, thank you all for your support and patience during this time. I love you all to pieces!

Hey everyone! You all know I do Real Estate as well as hair. I wanted to invite you to a few things! My team has a monthly mixer where we try to support our community by highlighting a different charity or cause. This month we are highlighting Christmas Box House and having a get together at Piper Down. Come join us, whether you drink or not you are invited!

Meet the sweetest little salon mascot, Potato. She’s so darling and I’m obsessed. My friend Becky, a fellow stylist, got her the other week and has been bringing her to work daily. She’s 11 weeks old and perfect!

Gorgeous Claudie is getting married in a couple of weeks. The first picture is her hair inspiration for the wedding day, and the second picture is today’s color session. I think we got pretty darn close! Keep In mind that the first picture is in darker lighting. This color session tok about 5 hours total. She had quite a bit of regrowth we had to bleach and tone, and we also removed the previous teal as we wanted cooler tones. We then washed the hair, toned the blond to get rid of any yellow, dried it fully, and applied the final color. She was super happy with the turnout.

Ended the day getting Melissa ready with hair and makeup for her engagement photos! We had a blast and she looked lovely! We will follow up with Bridals and then Wedding in the coming months. She likes a more natural look with a little bit of glam.

I’m pretty proud of this transformation on Lisa, but mad at myself for not getting before pictures. We took her from a dark Auburn to strawberry blond over just 2 sessions. We did back to back baby lights through the whole head each time and then I glazed over everything on this last session with an 8G and 8C to blend it all.
It looks soooo natural! We both left smiling that day 😍

It’s been a hot minute since i’ve posted any micro blading! Covid has thrown a wrench in doing to many up close and personal procedures. This is just after we finished so they are a bit swollen and numbing can increase that. But pain free is ESSENTIAL!! It’s been about 2-3 years since we had last done eyebrows so we were basically starting from scratch. I will take pictures of it healed before we do her touch up in 6 weeks.

Seriously go check out her music. She’s amazing. I’m so honored to be a part of the creative journey!

Sometimes Happy accidents happen! started a new job and they said she needed to tone down her hair from the rainbow colors we did last time, but that she could still do something fun. We removed the rainbow color and took her to a soft lavender with a root so it was easier grow out.
She was also putting in lavender extensions. The extensions went slightly darker than her hair which was fine because we wanted depth. In an effort to just slightly darken her lavender hair, she added a little blue. This was the result. Unexpected but still stunning!!!! You can see the original color in the last picture. Which is your favorite??? I think both are stunning and I’m not even mad about the turn of events.

Fall colors at the salon today are making me so happy!

I’ve gotten to do the whole rainbow of colors in my chair over the last two weeks! Today was turn. I’m obsessing over it a bit! All we did today was a color refresh on the bottom mixed with deep conditioner, and a brass breaking deep conditioner on top to keep the grey bright. No lightening necessary. This is one of the best ways to both keep the color popin’ and the hair super healthy for a long while. Not every session has to be full bleach, remover, and toning. We also trimmed it a bit today to keep those healthy ends going and to keep the hair split end free. What do ya think?

Today’s Adventure was with . I’ve been doing fun colors since she was 16. She became my nanny at 19 and Now she’s 26. Life is going WAY too fast, and I’m getting way too OLD!!!! The best thing is the amazing relationships you get to build over the years with clients. I love my job so much!!! I hit 20yrs of doing hair this summer and I’m not tired yet!

Try telling me that she isn’t the cutest! We did hair yesterday after she had a really terrible experience at a different salon. She’s a good friend and I just couldn’t let her hair stay like that, so we stripped all the old color out to start again from the beginning. 8 hours later, this is the result. She’s happy, I’m happy, and we are super excited for the additional extensions she’s putting in to match the hair. It’s super important to feel like you can speak up with a stylist if you don’t feel good about what is happening with your hair. Hair like this takes a ton of training and education to achieve. And lots of patience!🍾🎉🥳

When that balayage comes out SLAYING!!! Round two of going from her natural base color abs slowly lighting everything up while keeping gorgeous dimension. I could okay with her hair allllll daaaaaayyyyy llllooopoonnnnggg!!!!!!! Perfection!

There are project that happen that I sometimes can’t tell anybody about for months, maybe even up to a year. I’m grateful we get to release some of these photos over the next year. Emily Merrell has a new album coming out. She’s releasing the songs one at a time, and it KILLS me because I’ve heard it and want it NOW. Go follow her so you can listen to each song as they release. I already know it’s an album I will have on repeat in my car. While we filmed we were all dancing and singing along, even the guys. It’s that good. This is one of my favorite pictures. I’m so happy with everything about it. The styling, her hair color, and makeup. Sometimes I even surprise myself, even though I’ve done hair and makeup for 20 years now. Some of it still feels magical to me. I DID that, ya know? As always, it was amazing working with Jen Palmer Photography who is also AMAZING . She made the gorgeous crown as well.
