Congratulations to the Metzger Mustangs Cheer Squad!!! They went into the cheer camp with only 5 girls; going up against Woodlake Hills, Judson Middle, Kirby and Kitty Hawk at the cheer camp. The smallest middle school team but the BEST cheer squad.

They were named Overall UCA Cheer Camp Champions beating out all the other JISD middle schools. 8th Grade student LaRayne B & Chanel W were also named UCA All American Cheerleaders! Super proud of the entire team!

There will be an athletic orientation for all parents of students who plan on playing any sports next year on Aug. 12th at 5:30p-7:00pin the Metzger cafeteria. This is an opportunity to meet the coaches asked questions and get important info for parents and athletes. Also, athletics uniforms will be sold.

Attention Lady Mustangs!

Volleyball tryouts for 7th and 8th grade girls will be held on Thursday Aug. 15th and Friday Aug. 16th from 4p-6p. Athletes must attend both days. Please have a current physical uploaded to rankone.com and all forms on rankone completed and submitted prior to tryouts. No exceptions. Come in work out gear and tennis shoes to the girls gym immediately after school.

Preliminary STAAR results are in. If your child did not pass, they are required to complete an additional 15 hours of accelerated instruction for each content area. We are offering students the opportunity to complete these hours June 10 - 14 at Kirby Middle School. Registration will be Monday June 4 - Wednesday June 6 from 8am - 4pm and 5pm - 7pm at Kirby Middle School.

Judson ISD is proud to announce that it will provide no-cost summer meals at several elementary and secondary locations around the District. All meals will be served in the cafeteria, and there will be no curbside service.

Starting June 3rd through July 26th (with the exception of the July 4th week), any child 18 and under will be able to receive meals from any of our JISD locations throughout the district!

On May 11th Judson ISD LOTC program had our first joint Leaders Banquet at Metzger Middle School. It’s an opportunity for the students to socialize in a formal setting and to give out few awards to some outstanding students. We had a great turnout of over 120 students and parents attending. Our guest speakers was Mr. Daniel Brooks Assistant Superintendent of Operations. Mr. Brooks did a great speech about what it takes to be a leader.
I want to congratulate some outstanding leaders and their achievements.
-Mia Grant-Goyer Top LOTC Cadet of the Year.
-Alexander Hamilton 8th grade Cadet of the Year and the 101st Airborne Division Leadership award.
-Ismael Silva 7th grade Cadet of the Year.
-Christian Cortez 6th grade Cadet of the Year.
-Alyssa Lopez Emerging Leader award.

On Saturday May 4th Metzger Middle School LOTC competed against all the LOTC's in Judson ISD in four events. Physical fitness test, consisting of a mile relay run, minute push-ups, and minute of situps. Veterans Memorial obstacle course consisting of 10 obstacles. 11 student element for marching within a 40 foot by 40 foot area, and a Color Guard event.

We are proud to announce that Metzger took:
-1st place in marching
-1st place in Color Guard
-2nd place the obstacle course
-3rd place in physical fitness test
-2nd place overall!

The students demonstrated teamwork, attention to detail, discipline, and all of their hard work over the school year paid off.

🥳 Congratulations, Ms. Martin and Mrs. Zinn! Both teachers were awarded certificates of appreciation from the district for outstanding implementation of Class Catalyst. Their Advisory classes each achieved top usage within the entire school district! Amazing job supporting your students well being & social emotional growth! GO METZGER!!! 🤩🎉

Metzger invites you to attend ANGST. This screening is open to all parents and students 10 years and older. The screening is 55 minutes in length with a panel discussion to follow.
