Elect Irma Ramos for Bexar County District Clerk
I'm Irma Ramos and I'm running for Bexar County District Clerk not to oppose any one person, but to propose new policies.
I'm an active volunteer in many organizations. For the past 24 years, I've worked at the Bexar County Sheriffs' Office.
I had to get up super early to volunteer my time at the Earn A Bike event. This was my 3rd year volunteering at this event along with the cycling community to lend a helping hand. It just gave me goose bumps to see all the excitement on the kids faces when they are brought into the gym to be paired up with an adult to assist them on assembling their new bike. I was blessed with this young little girl name Jaiden. We immediately clicked and she was super ready to put her bike together. I took her through the process from assembling her bike, decorating her helmet her way to seeing her take off on her new bike. This young girl just blew my mind on how determined she was to built her bike on her own and she did with very little help from me. I was super proud of her. We had a conversation while she was putting her bike together and she told me she wants to be a fire fighter when she grows up. I just encouraged her to keep her good grades up and stay focus on her education and she will get there. I met her parents and siblings after the event. Mom and Dad very appreciative of me working with her. I told her parents, she really built the bike on her own. I told Mom that she had one bright child with alot of determination. I left the place knowing that I touched someone's life as well as her touching my life as well.
It was the upmost pleasure being a guest at the American Legion Post on South Cross at the Toys For Tots event. It was a great turn out. Lots of toys were donated to this great cause to help families in need this Christmas. I met alot of amazing people and had such a great time with new friends. The great support was just out of this world!! Thanks to my cousin Pete Ramos!!!
Thursdays Southtown Networking Mixer @ Taco Haven was a success!!! I had the pleasure of meeting local small business owners in Southtown area. It amazed me how they all support each others small businesses. The unity they have with each other is just awesome. They are like one big family. I was also given the opportunity to introduce myself as a running candidate for District Clerk. I presented my platform to them and as nervous as I was I felt confident that I had convinced them that it was time FOR A CHANGE & TO VOTE ME IN AS THEIR NEXT DISTRICT CLERK. After the event was over I went around passing my push cards and got alot of positive feed back and support. As my friend and i were getting ready to leave the owner Ms. Olivia came to us and told my friend that she would like to host a mixer for me here. She said you do alot for the community and now I want to help you. I had the biggest smile ever!!! Thank You Olivia!!!
And a huge THANK YOU to my friend Rudy Hernandez!!!
So, this is pretty interesting. Ms. Henrietta La Grange had invited me to tonights event at Methodist Church because she wanted me to meet people and make connections. Ms. La Grange had mentioned something about food and i thought we were going to volunteer to cook food and serve, which I was glad to do. I get there, meet Ms. La Grange we start talking, she starts introducing me to people but we never go to the kitchen to cook. Then the pastor comes out and announces the food is ready and a prayer is said and everyone gets in line. I felt a little embarrassed getting a free meal because i thought it was for the less fortunate. So,, before anything i asked Henrietta is this for anyone? She said oh yes. Wow, im glad i ate,, the food was delicious! Then the pastor takes a moment to ask a question to everyone "can you tell us what feeds your soul?" After some people got up and said what fed their soul i thought it was my turn. So I raised my hand and stood up and said "what feeds my soul is seeing the unity here, all the happy faces, filled souls with some delicious food that the pastors made. And it fills my soul, because I volunteer with my Church at Church Under the Bridge cooking a hot meal and serving the homeless,, just seeing the gratitude in their faces on how much they appreciate the meal fills my soul." I was welcomed there by everyone with open arms, lots of love and a lot of support!!!
But it was the upmost pleasure meeting this young man by the name of Kevin Rosenberger. He is full of positive energy and we are Edgewood supporters and now he is now one of my supporters. Until our next meal on Wednesday Kevin...can't wait!!!

After that lots of goodies were given away. I was blessed with a oak tree. It was an honor speaking to Manny Pelzer. Down to earth gentleman and he gave me a paleta!!!
It was a blessing to prepare, cook and serve the hungry at C.U.B with my brothers and sisters from Ignite Church. We work and pray as a team. It brings so much joy to my heart to hear the homeless say THANK YOU & APPRECIATE all that we do.
