What a special occasion when all our house teams came together to perform on the same night for the first time ever. These pictures are just the pre show warm ups and the love and energy in the theater and backstage before we even opened house. It’s stereotypical to say of your group of fellow performers that it feels like a family, but thats exactly what it feels like and ours keeps growing as more and more people fall in love with improv and our community. We have for 3 hilarious comedy shows this weekend at our theater which has free parking and is located in the Deco District inside - a gaming tavern where you can play hundreds of free board games and grab a beer or bottle of wine from a huge selection at the bar while you wait for the show to begin.

FRIDAY at 8pm for $10 is our flagship show! Friday Night Improv with House Party and this week features some special guests and plus a performance by one of our brand new house teams Mom & Pop’s!

At 10pm stick around for FREE for the Late Night Jam after Friday Night Improv, and throw your name in the hat for a chance to hop on stage yourself. Or you can just watch like a normal show and see the chaos unfold as both experienced and brand new performers will be thrown together and do an improvised comedy set right on the spot!

SATURDAY at 8pm at another $10 ticket is Saturday Night Improv that will feature The Pretty Flower! Bring yourself, bring friends or make it date night! Grab a drink from the bar and settle into the theater as our resident troupe House Party along with new cast members and hilarious friends made up of San Antonio’s best improv performers put on a show made up on the spot from your suggestions! Every show is unique and will never be the same twice, but you can always count on laughing your ass off.

What is The Pretty Flower? It is a form of improv that is centered on a grounded main scene almost like a one act play that branches off into hilarious tangents exploring the characters lives in the past or the future as well as the world they inhabit yet always returning to our central scene. Like a flower with petals (get it?). This is a very fun improv long-form but even if you don’t know anything about improv, just come laugh and follow the fun!

It’s always such a joyful experience to watch brand new improvisers step onto the stage for the first time, and this level one graduation show was no different. What an amazing, sold out show and celebration of improv comedy! Huge congratulations to these amazing performers for graduating from Long-Form: Level 1 and packing the house! Your teachers could not be more proud of you.

The growth that these improvisers have already showed in their journey has been so inspiring. The group was a great mix of brand-new, never-been on stage performers seeking to build their stage presence and confidence, and improvisers with a bit of experience looking to broaden their appreciation and knowledge of the artform. This class approached improv with so much intelligence, and never stopped asking thoughtful questions to grow their understanding of the craft. They supported each other with joy, laughter, and most importantly, FUN! We are so excited to continue to watch them all grow as performers!

Kudos to the amazing .clint and for teaching this class and guiding these blooming improvisers on their journey!

Our first fancy improv show was a success! Thank you so much for coming and packing our audience again right after a sold out Friday Night. This was such a fun evening filled with hilarious performers dressed to the nines. Special thanks to our first time audience members Brandon who we got to know very intimately including which side of the bed he sleeps on (left) and Angelica who shared the amazing detail that eating out in Germany takes 4-5 hours on the regular!

The cast was hyped and ready to have some fun with the debut of a brand new game, and an incredible premise based long-form that included God paying all your bills for you, stay in your lane is now a law upheld in the United States and the intelligence of the airport workers in North Dakota was brought into focus. There’s so much to say about this class, but the statement that keeps echoing is that 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝟭 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲! They share the stage with ease, they support without hesitation and everything is done wih such patience and amazing listening, no one is taking over, talking over eachother or stepping on someone’s line, it was a beautiful lesson and reminder for all experienced improvisers who were in attendance. On top of that, these people are freaking hilarious, and so ahead on a talent level of where they should be provided some have never done any improv prior to 8 weeks ago. It’s incredible to watch and motivating to our community, the future has been looking bright already around House Party Improv, and somehow it just got brighter!

Congratulations to all of these dedicated students who have become improvisers we can’t wait see again on stage!

This was a magical night, it was packed, sold out and delivered two fantastic hilarious Harolds! These performers just graduated our 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺:𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝟯 but the show they put on did not feel anything like a typical improv class graduation showcase! It would rival the best improv shows around on their best day. Some of these people prior to starting classes at House Party Improv have never taken any sort of acting, comedy, or improv class and to see how far they have come in just 3 levels of our courses is nothing short of incredible! This has been the most dedicated bunch, putting in the work with workshops, extra practices, attending shows, and even putting effort to socialize with eachother. The intent was to get better every single week and that work paid off! Everyone in our community is so proud to call these people our students, our teammates, our future teammates, and our friends.

Shoutout to our wonderful home inside our Artistic Director for teaching this beautiful class and to the amazing for being the best damn TA for this class anyone could ask for and taking these awesome pictures!
