Allowing yourself to go through the painful emotions of leaving a toxic partner is the greatest tool for healing.
We avoid discomfort, especially emotional discomfort, which is why many people numb or avoid the pain, which could lead to going back into the toxic partnership. This is why we must have a community of people to hold us and comfort us and we also need to be developing tools to help when we are triggered or feeling like reaching out to your ex partner.

This is where group therapy can play a really important role. Not only will you be building community, you’ll be working through the heartache and anger with the support of peers who have been through or are going through a similar experience all lead by a licensed psychologist.

Reach out to schedule a free consultation to join your next group focused on healing from a toxic relationship and moving forward with joy, peace, and excitement. Link to schedule is in our bio.

Break that addiction, make a choice to close the door and lean on your friends and community to help you heal and stay strong in your decision to leave the partnership.

Photos from Enamory's post 08/07/2024

It’s not clingy to ask for what you need and to want to be included in your partners life. If you’re in a relationship with someone who makes you feel like your needs and desires are too much or “too clingy” then you may be in a toxic relationship.

07/30/2024

When you’re in a toxic relationship it may be hard to see the signs because that constant chaos and back and forth become addicting. Breaking that cycle is not easy but it is possible to get out and have a partnership that is alignment with your values, where you feel safe, seen, heard, free to be you fully, and respected.
Read the signs and what that may look like below and if you or someone you know is in a toxic relationship please reach out or send them to us for help.

The signs of a toxic relationship explained:

* Constant Criticism: One partner consistently criticizes, belittles, or undermines the other, eroding their self-esteem

* Control and Manipulation: The toxic partner exerts control over various aspects of life, from finances to friendships, often using manipulation or guilt-tripping.

* Lack of Respect: Disrespectful behavior, such as lying, cheating, or dismissing feelings, is prevalent.

* Jealousy and Possessiveness: Excessive jealousy and possessiveness lead to constant monitoring and accusations, creating a sense of suffocation.

* Emotional Abuse: This includes gaslighting, where one partner manipulates the others perception of reality, leading to confusion and self-doubt.

* Isolation: The toxic partner isolates the other from friends and family, making them dependent and cutting off their support network.

Simply put, thoughts are not truth and feelings are not facts. When we allow ourselves to get swept up in our thoughts or feelings we take them on physically and mentally leading to more anxiety, depression, isolation, and rumination. Instead we should let our thoughts come and go just like our feelings. We can do this by acknowledging that what we think and feel as information in the given moment not as truth or fact.

If you are having a hard time calming your thoughts and feelings we suggest doing some mindfulness exercises to bring you back into the moment and back into your body/mind safely.

https://www.self.com/story/once-a-cheater-always-a-cheater

1. They willingly open up about their past—because they want to, not because they have to.

2. They know why they cheated in the first place.

3. They understand if you’re critical or skeptical of them.

4. They only did it once.

5. They’ve taken actions to repair their mistakes, like going to therapy.
