The Spay Neuter Action Project was co-founded in 1990 by a group of woman volunteering at the local municipal shelter. Candy Schumann, Barbara Rosenbaum, Rosemary Shelton, Diane Caulkins, and Maggie Houlihan figured out that after seeing countless stray animals come and go, they knew that adoption alone wasn't going to solve the problem! There were simply too many unwanted animals and not enough h

The SNAP Neuter Scooter is a veterinary surgery suite on wheels. SNAP staff are performing spays and neuters at an affordable price thanks to all surgical supplies donated by individuals and foundations. Low cost fees cover all medical and support team wages. Medical team is not a volunteer group, they are spay/neuter specialists who work hard from 6am-3pm on their feet to help prevent unwanted litters and save lives.
Spaying is the removal of the ovaries and uterus of a female dog, cat or rabbit. Neutering is the removal of the te**es in a male. Neutering and spaying procedures render pets unable to reproduce and offer a longer, happier and healthier life!

SNAP always recommends that pet owners please keep your cats indoors, especially during recovery.
Keeping cats indoors has several benefits for both the cats and the environment:
1. **Safety**: Indoor cats are protected from various dangers such as traffic, predators, and diseases that they might encounter outside.
2. **Health**: Indoor cats tend to have longer lifespans because they are less exposed to diseases like feline leukemia or feline immunodeficiency virus. They are also less likely to get hurt in fights with other animals.
3. **Preventing Overpopulation**: Keeping cats indoors helps control the population of stray and feral cats. (You must spay or neuter!!)
4. **Behavioral Stability**: Indoor cats often exhibit fewer behavioral issues, such as aggression or anxiety, as their environment is more stable and controlled.
5. **Bonding**: Indoor cats can form stronger bonds with their owners since they spend more time in the home environment.
6. **Comfort**: Indoor cats can enjoy a more comfortable living environment, with access to food, water, and a cozy space to sleep.
By keeping cats indoors, owners can ensure a safer, healthier, and more fulfilling life for their feline companions.

🌍🐾 Happy International Cat Day! 🐱
Today, we celebrate our feline friends and the joy they bring to our lives. But let’s also take a moment to talk about an important responsibility we have as cat lovers: **spaying and neutering.**
By spaying and neutering our cats, we help reduce the number of homeless animals, prevent health issues, and contribute to a happier, more balanced community of pets. 🏡✨
Today we gave all the kitties getting fixed a new blanket, handmade by the “National Charity League” Volunteers!

Pickleball Sponsor Spotlight 🏓🌟
Platinum Sponsor: Miramar Kitchen & Bath 🎉
“As a lifelong animal lover, I've always known the importance of adopting and fostering animals. At one point, my husband and I had eight rescued dogs and two cats at home, and I realized that it wasn’t making a dent in the homeless pet population. That’s when I had a light bulb moment – I realized that we can't adopt our way out of the problem. The only way to deal with pet overpopulation is through spay and neuter. SNAP is the answer. I’m proud to support Spay and Neuter Action Project personally and professionally.”

3rd annual “Pickleball for the Pets”welcomes back Amrit Shergill, Realtor!
"One of my passions has always been animals I love them all! I have volunteered in numerous ways for all kinds of animals for the last 33 years. I am proud to be a part of SNAP to help reduce the number of unwanted dogs, cats and bunnies in San Diego County with low cost spaying and neutering. Whenever there is a situation that needs fixing you must always go to the root of the problem. SNAP, not the county or any other group, is going out to the community to help fix the problem of so many unwanted animals. SNAP is responsible for saving so many dogs, cats and bunnies from being born into a world there are not enough homes for. I can help you with buying or selling your home. After every sale I donate to animal groups."- Amrit ShergillRealtor, Gold Sponsor, SNAP Advisory Committee Member and Animal Advocate

😻 The SNAP spay clinic was fully sponsored thanks to “Sunrise Rescue” where lots of cats and kittens were fixed today!! Even had a few dogs receiving their spay or neuter procedure. 🐾
🐈There were some cats from an RV , a litter found under a trailer, some from a shelter far away. 🐈⬛ The stories are endless. Good thing is these pets are now fixed, vaccinated and microchipped! 😸
You can sponsor a “free” S/N clinic too! Contact:
