But then, she discovered the Women Empowerment Program at U-TOUCH. Enrolling in the program, Jesca gained invaluable business skills, confidence, and leadership qualities. Overcoming gender-based violence and championing women's rights, she established a thriving poultry and goat business. Today, she can provide for her children, cover medical bills, and ensure their education.

Bolstered by the confidence gained through U-TOUCH, Jesca took on a community leadership role as the elected Counselor in Mbale City. Her impactful changes have made a significant difference in her community, contributing to a notable reduction in gender-based violence cases. Jesca has become a strong advocate for women's rights.

Dear U-TOUCH the World Family & Friends,

The 7th of October unleashed an unspeakable tragedy of egregious unimaginable violence and bloodshed in Israel. The unbearable palpable pain and suffering will remain with the families forever. Yes, we are one world feeling the reverberating agony inflicted by these violent indiscriminate horrific atrocities perpetrated upon babies, children, women, men, and the elderly. The U-TOUCH the World team is offering our solidarity with Israel, giving each life the respect and dignity it deserves, honoring those lost as well as families in the deepest pain mourning their loved ones' tragic tortured fatal demise. Therefore, we have concluded that this is not the time to be celebrating. Instead, we are mourning with Israel. In solidarity, for now, we have canceled the Gala for Giving Hope on the 3rd of November. Surely you will agree, it is impossible to regale or offer "Giving Hope" at this time.

We plan to continue our important support for the extraordinary U-TOUCH work ongoing in Uganda. Women are the backbone of Africa - They bear the children, care for their families, work the garden, and spend hours walking for water. Too often these responsibilities keep them from the education and opportunities that would improve the lives of their whole families. As girls come of age in poor areas of Africa, they do not have the luxury to think about who they could become or what they’d like to do. Their aspirations, hopes, and dreams are often swept away as they are consumed with performing chores. They often have to drop out of school, marry soon after reaching puberty, and become young mothers — a vicious cycle that diminishes their economic potential and impacts their health.

We work with vulnerable women and girls living in conditions of extreme poverty to boost their economic and educational participation. By empowering them with entrepreneurial skills and the confidence to build a strong future, through employment and/or entrepreneurship endeavors their income improves living conditions for themselves and their families thereby transforming their communitie

Over 86% of Africa’s population still has no Internet access. Millions of young women and men living in regions of rural Africa still have no internet or ICT knowledge or training. They have been left out of the internet revolution and access to improved education, employment, communication and empowerment.

U-TOUCH has graduated and certified over 6000 students in Uganda in the Microsoft Digital Literacy Curriculum.

Students having never touched a computer before, walk miles for free U-TOUCH training. They know that knowledge of computers, computer technology and the Internet is essential to building and establishing careers, which will empower and enable them to participate with the changing economy of their country. Phionah joined ICT Training at U-TOUCH when she had just completed her Advanced Level. She had a passion for learning computer applications, but since she was from a humble background, her parents couldn’t afford to raise funds to fund technical training.. After hearing about the free ICT training at U-TOUCH, she immediately joined and successfully completed the two-month course. Phionah is currently attending university pursuing a media course and she is aiming at becoming one of the best media personalities in the country. She is using ICT skills to do her research and also helping other students (for a fee) enabling her to pay part of her tuition and also meet other personal needs.

Jesca is a widow who has struggled to raise her children as a single mother. She always had a dream of becoming an entrepreneur, but had no knowledge and skills to go about it. After hearing about the Women Empowerment Program at U-TOUCH she decided to enroll. She attained business skills, confidence, and leadership, Overcoming gender-based violence and women’s rights. Jesca started a successful poultry and goat business. She can now provide food for her children, pay medical bills and pay school fees for her children.

Because of the confidence she gained from U-TOUCH, she decided to seek a community leadership post as an elected official, She is now serving as the Counselor in Mbale City where she has made vast changes in her community, Jesca is also a strong advocate for women’s rights which has contributed to the significant reduction of gender-based violence cases in the area. U-TOUCH has fulfilled Jesca’s Dream!

Women's Empowerment Program - Young Ugandan women and girls participate in the U-TOUCH intensive free month-long program to challenge traditional and limited gender roles and redefine women as valuable and powerful. Empowerment for women and girls only happens when they can envisage a different life and consider themselves able and confident. Building on the solid foundation of women’s rights, the students develop self-esteem, leadership, business and tech skills for the Digital Age.

Accelerating Digital Equality in Africa - U-TOUCH provides free Computer Literacy (ICT Training). Within the 8-week robust training the ICT students gain in-depth computer knowledge and skills with a highly regarded certification improving the likelihood of gaining employment or becoming entrepreneurs

U-TOUCH provides a formal education for orphans and other vulnerable children who otherwise do not have access to education, Without this support children resort to selling items on the streets such, as bananas or peanuts, or making bricks from mud for hours to raise tuition fees. U-TOUCH Success story: Meet Musa --Before joining U-TOUCH, Musa was a senior six leaver who had wanted to join a university. Without money, he spent 2 years at home. When he heard about the free computer training at U-TOUCH, he was very excited to join because he never thought an opportunity would arise for studying computers at no cost. After successfully completing his ICT training and attaining a certificate, he searched for a job and was employed at a school as a Bursar. He oversees all the accounts of the school and manages the pupils’ records. He has even started the process of setting up a computer lab at the school of which he will be the trainer. He is earning a monthly salary which helps him pay school fees for his siblings, support his parents with basic needs like food and medical care while sustaining himself. Musa is honored and appreciative he studied at U-TOUCH which has changed his life and that of his family.
