One Heart Worldwide wishes you a joyous Teej filled with love and togetherness!
In May, our initiative began in Jajarkot, the district worst hit by the 2023 earthquake.
It takes a year to establish our initiative in a new district, involving meetings with local Palika officials, workforce development, and setting up data systems, paving the way for successful program ex*****on. We collaborate with stakeholders to repair health facilities and support expectant mothers and children.
We’re excited to announce the installation of Nyano Nani warmers at various health posts in Rautahat District, in collaboration with Sanjay Bahadur Singh and his team, and with the National Innovation Center as our manufacturing partner.
Nyano Nani is an innovative infant warmer developed by the National Innovation Centre in Nepal as a cost-effective and easy-to-use solution for providing the essential warmth that newborns need.
These advanced baby warmers have been successfully set up, and staff have been trained at the following locations:
- Paroha Dimuriya Health Post, Isnath Municipality Ward 9
- C. Pipariya Health Post, Bodhimai Municipality Ward 6
- Tejapakad Health Post, Paroha Municipality Ward 3
This initiative marks a significant step forward in improving neonatal care in these communities.
In 2023, One Heart Worldwide exceeded our impact goals, enhancing access to care, improving quality services, securing government buy-in, and ensuring program sustainability across all transition and completed districts.
We're committed to strengthening local healthcare systems, providing equitable, high-quality care to every woman and newborn in rural Nepal. Together, we're making a lasting difference!

🌟 Did You Know? 🌟
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that pregnant women have at least eight antenatal care visits with a trained healthcare provider throughout their pregnancy.
Antenatal care is essential for protecting the health of women and their unborn children. Through these vital check-ups, expectant mothers can:
- Learn about healthy behaviors during pregnancy
- Understand warning signs during pregnancy and childbirth
- Receive social, emotional, and psychological support
- Access crucial services like micronutrient supplementation, hypertension treatment, immunizations, and HIV prevention
- In malaria-endemic areas, receive medications and mosquito nets to prevent the disease
Despite the importance of these visits, only 69% of pregnant women globally receive the previously recommended four antenatal care visits, and even fewer reach the updated goal of eight visits. Regular contact with healthcare professionals can significantly improve the health outcomes for both mothers and their babies.
Let's advocate for better antenatal care and support expectant mothers in Nepal and worldwide. Together, we can make a difference!
Together, we can build a healthier future for adolescents in Nepal and beyond.
🌟 Welcome to One Heart Summer Camp! 🌟
Did you know that in 2022, 13% of adolescent girls and young women globally gave birth before age 18? These young mothers often face more challenges in accessing antenatal, skilled delivery, and postnatal care compared to older women.
Join over the next few weeks as we learn about the intersection of adolescent health and maternal health, paying particular attention to adolescent pregnancy in Nepal.
We aim to provide as many people as we can with knowledge and resources on what the different stages of pregnancy look like for young girls in Nepal, as well as the risks associated with adolescent pregnancy more generally. Stay tuned to learn more!
