Meet the owner!! Leithon Tomlinson or as he’s known by his customers Mr. Lee. Leithon was born in St. Elizabeth, JA but he grow up in Kingston; from a very young age he had always dreamed of coming to the States and had passion for cooking. His inspiration for his art has always been his mother, Joyce, whom challenged and trained him every day. Once he had accomplished his dream of coming here he tackled a new one…. having one of the best most authentic Jamaican restaurants in America.

Our passion for cooking

Lee and Tiffany, Lee has the passion for cooking that was handed down to him by his mother when he was a young boy growing up in St. Catherine Jamaica. Lee’s mother often had to work long hours to support his family so Lee would do his part to assist his mother in the preparation of the meal by seasoning and preparing it for his mother so she only had to put it in the pot when she returned home from work. In this way not only did Lee assist his mother but in turn she gave Lee the culinary skills he shares with us today at Ackee Tree.

Tiffany, loving to make people smile and being from Chicago brings her soul food flare to the food and environment adding delicious tastes such as our Mac n’ Cheese and Collard Greens, she is the face of Ackee Tree that welcomes you as you come in to enjoy not a fast food meal but a fresh food meal. Ackee Tree not only serves you here fresh at your table, to go orders, delivery by Yelp or Grub Hub and we also cater to your special occasions and events.
