In honor of Juneteenth our facilities (Price Center & Student Center) will be closed.
Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States, Juneteenth, which is also known as Emancipation Day, Jubilee Day, and Freedom Day marks the day in 1865 when Union Army General Gordon arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce that the last of the enslaved people in the Confederacy were free. This news was shared nearly 2.5 years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.
