With a single phrase, you can give up your country. With a single signature, you can tear a family apart. With a single word, you can learn to transform. In their first full-length solo show, (Un)Documents, award-winning actor and poet Jesús I. Valles journeys across both sides of a river with two names, moving between languages to find their place as a child, a lover, a teacher, and a sibling in a nation that demands sacrifice at the altar of citizenship. (Un)Documents won three 2018 B. Iden Payne awards for Outstanding Original Script, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama, and Outstanding Direction of a Drama, and was nominated for Outstanding Production of a Drama. There will also be a talkback portion for guests to partake in.

We are so grateful for your love and support in our LGBTQIA+ community, and we wanted you to be among the first to know that Matt M. Morrow will be stepping down as Executive Artistic Director of Diversionary Theatre at the end of June. They are stepping down as Executive Artistic Director after an eight-year tenure leading the third-oldest LGTBQIA+ theatre in the United States, increasing its operating budget by nearly one-hundred and fifty percent, and advancing its artistic legacy, to become Artistic Director of Center Repertory Company, the resident professional theatre company of the city of Walnut Creek’s Lesher Center for the Arts. Joining the artistic leadership team of Lesher Center for the Arts, Morrow will help develop and guide the Center REP’s theatrical productions while contributing to its larger strategic initiatives building upon the company’s successful more than 50 year history. Our Managing Director, Jenny Case, will be taking over as Executive Director upon Matt's departure to ensure that Diversionary will continue to serve our community with our unique and thoughtful LGBTQIA+ centered programs. “Leading this historic company has been without a doubt the most profound experience of my life as an artist and arts leader.
