Welcome back! On Sunday we held our first rehearsal of the season, and we are so excited for what's ahead. We had a wonderful time singing together, and after rehearsal we bonded over food and drinks as we got a chance to socialize with new members and returning members.
Please help us welcome back SO MANY of our current and past members, and welcome our NEW members! It's going to be a great season! 🎶
SDWC is excited to announce that we have filled up our New Member Orientation spots for this season! Wow! We've had so much response from the community, and we are excited to meet so many new people on Thursday.
Unfortunately that means we're unable to accommodate any additional potential new members at this session, so if you were interested in joining us and have not sent an RSVP, mark your calendars for January 26th, 2025, when our next New Member Orientation is scheduled.
Thank you for your interest and support!! 🧡💜
We're winding down our summer and getting ready to kick off the fall season, so here's another look back at our MANY summer singing events. The opportunity to sing at GALA Festival 2024 was really beyond words for a lot of our members. For some it was their first time attending. Others have been several times. And many of our members had planned to attend in 2020. Nothing compares to gathering with our singing siblings from all over the world for a week of music and fellowship. We can't wait to do it again in 2028!
Taking a moment to share a pic from our set at the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus concert, "Let's Get Loud" earlier this month. The Balboa Theater was filled to the brim with the energy of an enthusiastic audience who showed so much love for all three choruses that performed. It was an honor to sing with our singing siblings, SDGMC, and new friends, Coro Diversidad Tijuana.
San Diego Women's Chorus will be welcoming new members this fall! SDWC is a le***an-identified, feminist chorus that welcomes treble singers (soprano and alto range) from the vastly diverse LGBTQ & straight ally communities.
San Diego Women’s Chorus, a non-profit community chorus, strives to entertain and inspire audiences with music that speaks to issues as diverse as human rights, love, world peace, religion freedom, environmental harmony, inclusion, and cultural diversity. SDWC supports and affirms the music of women, LGBTQ+, feminist, and BIPOC composers and arrangers.

It's Friday, and we'd love to hear your feedback! We've had such a busy summer performing at community events, local sports events, our annual Pride Concert, San Diego Pride, GALA Choruses Festival 2024, and San Diego Gay Men's Chorus's "Let's Get Loud" concert. Now we're taking a couple of weeks to regroup and prepare for our next season.
As we look ahead, we invite you to think about your experiences with SDWC and provide us some feedback through our short 4-question survey. Your responses will help us as we advertise our organization to both a new audience and our current supporters, and as we seek funding through grants and private donations.
SDWC Audience and Follower Feedback We would love to hear your thoughts and feedback about our organization. Please answer questions in complete sentences. (Examples: "I think SDWC is..." // "SDWC performs..." // "The concert was...") Your answers may be used in our messaging across social media, email, and our website. Thank you so m...

Lots of SDWC goodies coming up! We have more Pride celebrations, videos from In Harmony to share, and photos and videos from our Pride Concert. Here’s one to kick things off.
First up is the brand new song Disenfranchised, which we performed at our In Harmony concert in May. The music and words are written by Elizabeth Alexander, and the song is a witty reflection on the current frustrations of the voting experience in the US. Here’s what the composer says about the song:
“Disenfranchised calls out voter disenfranchisement for what it truly is: an insidious power game with winners and losers, ever-changing rules, and a deliberate intent to exclude. A serious subject for sure, but expect no scolds or lectures! Instead this song wields that most powerful and underutilized weapon, humor! Brace yourself for some sly nods to nursery songs, carnival music, and patriotic chestnuts. There’s also a high likelihood that singers might just add some dramatic flourishes of their own!”
Enjoy!
