I can’t stress how important it is to hire vendors that can bring your wedding concepts and ideas to life! Patrick and Connor’s wedding was a dream come true, not only for them but for all of their vendors. We poured our hearts and souls into their vision, down to the smallest details, and it definitely paid off.

Downtown may be one of my new favorite spots to shoot!

I wanna be where the people are…

Give me all the urban weddings! Lauren and Kevin’s wedding was in the heart of downtown LA and was the perfect mix of elegance and edgy. It was also one hell of a dance party!

Let me tell you excited I was about the gorgeous couple, on there amazing wedding day, over looking the stunnnnning view…..FRICKNNN EXCITED!

Sunset hues was the inspiration for Andrea + Ryan’s wedding, and it turned out truly romantic. Be sure to swipe to see their reception details!

APPRECIATION POST! 

The end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 has hands down been one of the HARDEST chapters in my life. 

The end of last year was the busiest season for most of the wedding industry as we carried out all of the reschedules from the Covid as well as our planned weddings for the year. Just as I was getting into the midst of all the fun, BOOOOMMM, Adobe could not read my new camera gear. It took over three months for the issue to be fixed, and I shot 14 weddings in that period of time. Let the snowball begin…

During this time, I struggled really hard personally. I found myself fighting to keep my head above water every day as I started a new life as a single woman and mama, moved, and had surgery. These huge life-changing events, coupled with being inevitably behind due to the technical problems with my editing software, have been the most challenging period of my life. While I am still very much in the midst of it, this post is to share something other than the hardship.

I woke up feeling so grateful. While I may be “the face” of Morgan McCanne Photo, I have a wonderful village of amazing clients and loving family and friends who keep me going. I know they say it takes a village to raise children, but when your village knows that your business is your child too, you realize you have really hit the jackpot. 

THANK YOU to my clients affected by the pandemic and delayed editing! Thank you for your grace, patience, and understanding. Being your photographer is an honor and brings me so much happiness. You guys allow me to feel fulfilled in my career time and time again. I truly love my job so much and hope it shows not only through the process of working with me but in the result of your images. 

THANK YOU to my family and friends! You guys are my backbone when I feel like I can’t stand anymore. 

 THANK YOU to my sister for being my ride or die, literally. You are always there for me emotionally and physically. You literally do everything I can’t and come to my rescue whenever I call for help. Our bond is so unique and strong; I can’t imagine life without you. (Don’t mess with the Ware girls!)

I’m back…And here to f*ckn SLAY.

FOUR MONTHS!!! It’s been foouurrrrr long months since I last posted on Instagram!!!! However, I’m happy to be back at it and conquer here to 2022.

Life doesn’t ever go as planed or expected, but lesson learned along your path are invaluable. I’m living this year by two poems from my favorite poet

Summer is winding down but my busy season is still in FULL SWING! This year has been a whirlwind! . As a wedding photographer I get to create memories that are tangible and cherished, which is one of my favorite aspects of my work.

Photos have a soft spot for me because they have played since an important role in life. Having the opportunity to cherish and love photos for a lifetime and then pass them on as heirlooms is a huge reason I love my job so much, but also take it so seriously. I want to deliver images I wish I had ❤️

My cousin Rachael is like a sister to me. So when her boyfriend of 6 years, Ryan, called me with the plan to fly some of her closest girlfriends from California to Montana for a proposal surprise, we were all game! He wanted me to hide in the bushes and document the entire proposal, and obviously I said yes!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not only was I beyond excited that the time had finally come for him to propose to her (yep, I am calling Ryan out because we waited FOREVER for this to happen), but it also took place on my birthday. That made it extra special for me! It was honestly one of the most exciting sessions I’ve had the honor
to document because it held such a special place in my heart!

One of my personal favorite moments was after Ryan proposed. He pointed to me hiding in the bushes (I had been ignoring Rachaels birthday calls all day!) when a handful of our closest friends surprised Rachel as Ryan proposed to her on the dock while her parents and best friend were driving up on a boat that was blasting “Marry You” by Bruno Mars.

Walking down the aisle to your fiancé and walking out hand in hand with your husband; the joining of two families and the beginning of the couples marriage is such a special moment one of my favorites to capture.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that your wedding day goes by in the blink of an eye and all you’ll have is your memories (and some amazing photos!) Be present in those moments and enjoy them to the fullest. And don’t forget to have fun!

One of my best friends is renewing vows with her husband next month and I’m SO EXCITED to be able to shoot it for them in Oklahoma!

I’m sure you guys have heard me say this 80000 freakin times but I LOVE wind in photos! It offers such good movement of hair and clothes which adds dimension where you least expect it. Like wind through your hair!

20 weddings left for this year, leggo!!!

I’ll never get bored with Joshua Tree engagement sessions, wow. The scenery, the sunsets, the Joshua trees; I love it all!

Jessica and Matt love spending time outdoors together! Some of their favorite activities are hiking and spending time in the desert photographing the night sky. Joshua Tree was the perfect fit for their engagement shoot!

We had so much fun hanging out in the desert, taking a couple of tequila shots, followed by In N’ Out on the way home. The perfect end to a perfect Joshua Tree engagement session!

Ohh, where do I even start?? 

Patrick + Connor became HUSBAND and HUSBAND overlooking the bluffs of Santa Barbara and in front of their family and friends. These two are just MAGIC! They must have a magnet to attract amazing people, and I assume they get it from their families. The love from their families and friends was present throughout the whole day. 

Together they poured their heart and souls into creating the wedding of their dreams! They love gardening and taking care of their plants, so naturally, getting married at  with the reception in a greenhouse was the perfect location for them to say "I do". They made ALL of their invitations and signage! YES, ALL! (Be sure to swipe through to see just a glimpse of the details). And to top it off, they had a vendor dream team! 

I can't wait to share more from their beautiful day!

Let’s talk elopements! Elopements are a favorite of mine because of how intimate the ceremony and celebration of the couple is. When you strip down all the fluff, you are left with two people in love, which is so rewarding to capture as a photographer.

Sunset Cliffs is one of the most gorgeous places to elope in San Diego. Gabrielle and John kept it intimate and simple with a sunset elopement overlooking the Pacific. One of my favorite moments was when I turned around and saw them celebrating in private. John picked Gabrielle up and kissed her, and so I started snapping away! These two were so enamored with each other; it was such a sweet moment. John even took photos of his new wife with his cell phone to savor the evening himself.

Pro-tip; If you're considering planning an elopement at Sunset Cliffs, keep in mind that it can get really busy, and you won't have the place to yourself. But it can still be a perfectly picturesque place for your special day!

If you’re looking to get in a workout while you take your engagement photos head to Blacks Beach, that hill is no joke! The trek was well worth it for their sunset engagement session.

Side note: blacks beach is a n**e beach, so be prepared for exposed parts to be soaking up the sun. Now to think of it, it would make a good photobomb lol.

I CANT BELIEVE IT’S JULY! And we are basically 1/2 way thought it!! Holy moly time needs to slow down so I can’t catch up.

Weddings season is now in full swing and I have been a busy lady these last few weeks! I usually take a break from IG when things get a bit chaotic because I’m a one woman show, and I have A LOT to do!
